ESTEYCO MECHANICS IS A NEW BUSINESS UNIT SPECIALISED IN THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF COMPLEX STRUCTURES AND MECHANICAL SYSTEMS IN GENERAL

ESTEYCO’s long term tradition in structural design since 1970 is now expanded within and beyond civil engineering domains by a highly skilled and experienced group of engineers, experts in structural & mechanical design and analysis. The activity of ESTEYCO Mechanics focuses on actual engineering problems in actual industry that demand going beyond what is common practice in standard design processes, providing an integrated engineering solution to our clients and partners.

ESTEYCO MECHANICS is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, experts in structural & mechanical design and analysis, working in non-conventional problems within the very general framework of structural mechanics. This need to address non-conventional problems in engineering is common to every industrial sector nowadays. New developments demand gaining a deeper understanding of the key factors driving their performance in order to propose alternative solutions and design improvements. This is where Esteyco Mechanics focuses on, trying to stay true to some basic principles: ANALYSIS FOR DESIGN The final goal of anything we do is improving how things work and doing (or helping others do) a better design. This is achieved through a combination of practical industrial experience in design, manufacturing and integration processes and a significant expertise in advanced numerical analysis techniques and testing.

FROM GLOBAL TO LOCAL Basic global principles in mechanics are the starting point, rather than local knowledge, that lead to understanding the problem when the problem is beyond what local knowledge can routinely answer. Advanced numerical analysis techniques are a powerful tool applied in this context.

KEEPING IT SIMPLE AS A TARGET Simplicity based on rationality is the ultimate sophisti cation in analysis. Trying to avoid complex representations of any phenomenon is whenever possible a target. Design of components with heat removal functions

Design of components working in non-linear range

Civil & structural engineering

Some distinct capabilities: NON-LINEAR MECHANICS Involved in the design of structures or components driven by stability considerations, by their response under extreme load cases, changing over time or with movable parts. Our experience covers the design of several mechanisms in the field of robotics and biomechanics, the definition of critical parameters in manufacturing processes or ultimate capacity assessments and re-designs of various railway, aeronautical, automotive, nuclear and civil structures and components.

STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS Involved in the design of structures or components subjected to severe random loading (wind, wave and seismic engineering), to significant time-varying loading or with impact resistant or dynamic motion control requirements. Our experience includes a number of realizations in the fields of high speed dynamics for the Eurofighter and A400M programs, blast resistant design of military vehicles, flow induced vibration assessments for nuclear components, seismic analysis and design of facilities such as ITER or dynamic analysis of offshore and wind sensitive structures.

HEAT TRANSFER Involved in the design of structures or components with heat removal functionalities or subjected to significant heat fluxes and/or cooling conditions. Our experience includes an active participation in the design of crucial ITER plasma facing components under pulsed operation, in the thermal-mechanical evaluation of nuclear components in fission NPPs, in the design of novel concepts for the thermal expansion stability of passive components on satellites or in addressing the influence of thermal effects in the design of arch and gravity dams.
