Infant and Primary School in Burguillos, Sevilla.
Public Competition for Andalusia Goverment, for UNIA Architect.
LOCATION_ Burguillos, province of Seville. Small agricultural town 30 kms far from the Seville. BUILT AREA_ Â 4.110 m2 PROGRAMME_ 9 children classrooms, 18 primary classrooms, special education classrooms, multipurpose classrooms, library, administration area, gym, kitchen and common services.

A
GUIDELINES_ On one hand they need a separate entrances for children and teenagers. While they share the using of common areas and services, routes as well.
Ground Floor
 LIMITS_ It's located on a rectangular plot, in the sudrounding of the town, bordering fields. STRATEGY The complex is divided in two different buildings, connected by a gallerie. The infant area is developed in one floor. It's characterized by an individual courtyard for each classroom. On the other hand the primary area is placed in a three floors building. It has a U shape to generate an entrance in the union of the activity spaces. And it allow a direct connection between the infant courtyard and the teenagers one. On the ground floor there are the common services and on the upper floors the theorical classrooms.

BUILT AREA_ 4.036 m2 PROGRAMME_ 9 Junior classrooms, 18 primary classrooms, special education classrooms, multi-purpose classrooms, library, administration area, gym, kitchen and common services. A'

GUIDELINES_ Different entrances for the two areas of junior and primary classrooms, the rehabilitation of the existing curved hangar in order to give it a funtional use. LIMITS_ The plot is next to the San Bernardo train station. There is a semicircular hangar made of bricks and metal trusses, belonging to the railway facilities of the early nineteenth century. STRATEGY_ A three floor volume is created to contain all the programme uses, it is connected by a flat cover with the existing hangar. The new building is divided in two parts, one of them is for common activities and the other is where all the main activities are developed. The hangar is refurbished, a new skin is created inside the old walls, generating a central corridor as an entrance to the new volumen. It is in fact the main object in the project, focus the attention in crossing routes.

Extension of the Primary School , Vélez - Málaga, Málaga.
LOCATION_ Vélez - Málaga, little town near to the coast.
Public Contest for Andalusia Goverment, in collaboration with UNIA Architects.
BUILT AREA_ 3.500 m2 PROGRAMME_ 18 primary classrooms, special education classrooms, multi-purpose classrooms, library, administration area, gym and common services. GUIDELINES_ Expansion of primary classroom block, the existing one is just junion education. In addition to complete the services they offer, it's including a gym, a library and sports facilities. LIMITS_ Free space in the actual plot. The singularity is that the school should keep working during the time the build the new building without interrupt the classes. section AA'
STRATEGY A new building has been created connected to the original one by a covered gallery, that divided the space into two playgrounds, for each of the educational levels. The sport area and gym are located under the difference level wall, it allows to create to levels of playground.

LOCATION_ It is located in a industrial area in Arcos de la Frontera, Cádiz. BUILT AREA_ 7.0 00 m2 PROGRAMME_ comercial shops, offices, multifuntional classrooms.

GUIDELINES_ The project involves multifuntional and commercial uses. It conteins a central covered courtyard. LIMITS_ La parcela de 3.000 m2 de planta, se encuentra entre naves industriales y edificios comerciales, con un desnivel de 3m entre la vía principal y paralela segundaria. STRATEGY_ The main concept is the creation of a patio surrounding with different funtional spaces. The patio is covered by a concrete first skin and a second one made of a supporting structure microperforeted steel. The north and the south facade are covered with steel slats.

site plan LOCATION_ Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany. BUILT AREA_ 16.000 m2 PROGRAMME_ 150 residential units for new families, young couples and singles. GUIDELINES_ Housing for new sport families. LIMITS_ An empty solar limited on one site by existing houses and on the other site by a low density forest. STRATEGY_ The planning is based on the assumption that the region of BitterfeldWolfen features a particular kind of positive “artificiality“, reflected in the approach to urbanism, landscape and architecture. This “artificiality” confirms the dynamic and innovative heritage of the region and is not to be confused with alienation. In return the design is informal, open and programmable finding a tangible expression the cubic modular volumes.

LOCATION_ Rada, Navarra, Spain BUILT AREA_ 360 m2 PROGRAMME_ expositions room, administration office, laboratory room, archives, internal patio, 30 parking plots. GUIDELINE_ excavation under the ruins. LIMITS_ the fortification area. STRATEGY _ the project focus in the idea of create a cover for the ruins. This idea develop the concep of cover without touch the ground, taking in consideration the importance of the element that it is covered. In parallel it creates a building for serve the needs of expositions and facilities for the complex meanwhile the proper ruins are cover by a light sloped roof which follow the same idea.

LOCATION_ Berlin, Germany BUILT AREA_ 250 m2 PROGRAMME_ 2 houses for: - a single novelist who loves cooking - a computer programer who loves sport
LIMITS_ Keep up the ground floor free to permit the access to the interior yard. STRATEGY_ Housing developed in high, with the main axis of the staircase leading to different plants. The Ground floor only has the staircase to staying free the passage to the yard. Homes have large windows, high ceilings and large spaces. The space rotate around a furniture that contain the stairs and create the different spaces in the house.

BUILT AREA_ 950 m2 PROGRAMME_ Social use: Multifuntional room for social activities, internal courtyard, social workshops, dining rooms for the homeless. Private use: Beds for the homeless, treatment room, living room, administration and management offices, specialized care room, lockers, laundry, animal shelter. GUIDELINES_ Recover the public space, welcoming the homeless, occupational activities. LIMITS_ Plot size of Expo `92 currently unused, bordered by roads at two different high. STRATEGY_ The idea is create a big access that allows the views to the river and conform a public space previous to the building. Over it there is a large block that contains the rooms for the homeless. And under it, the social and public activities are developed.

PROGRAMME_ 6 social housing (60 m2 each one) GUIDELINES_ Vertical growth, create new common areas for the community neighbours in old quarter. LIMITS_ Housing plot of irregular form, entrance street of 1,33 m. wide. STRATEGY_ The idea is to create a vertical house hungging on the medianera. And depends on the different level the activity and the space change settling to the necesities. The common areas are on the ground floor, where everything starts and the staircase is the common space linking all rooms inside the house. Landscaped areas on deck.

LIMITS_ Solar between houses and a part of the roman wall. STRATEGY_ Entrance to level -1 that conect with an internal courtyard which conect the building in the different levels. The common areas are on the ground floor and deck, spacious homes with shared spaces. Landscaped areas on deck.

GUIDELINES_ Singular building LIMITS_ Rehabilitation of the building near to the Bus Station in Oporto. STRATEGY_ Rehabilitation of the building reinforcing the back wall.The front wall is used to create a new structure. The cladding works as a gradient module between the exterior and interior. The building works as a flashlight at night.

BUILT AREA_ 12m2 PROGRAMME_ Emergency housing module, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen. GUIDELINES_ Manufactured emergency home, easy transport and assembling. LIMITS_ Modular units that allows growth. STRATEGY_ The structure is prefabricated with cladding, activity units that can be combined, the house is divided by the entrance in two differents units. Each units contains a specific and funtional furniture.
