The capital of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso is the ideal destination to nature lovers and to those who enjoy high temperatures as it is the doorway to natural reserves such as the ‘Pantanal’ and the ‘Chapada dos Guimarães’. Heat is part of the climate in this place throughout the year, including the month of July, the month during which the city will be hosting four games for FiFA’s World Cup Games, all part of the first phase of the international competition. In order to welcome thousands of foreign soccer-loving tourists, the city is rushing against time to get ready. Amongst some of the
construction projects on the go locally is the modern Arena Pantanal stadium which has been on specialized lists around the world of best building projects for sports competitions. The extension of the Marechal Rondon Airport is also among other projects o the go, as well as the much celebrated LTR line (Light Transit Rail) which will link the city to the airport located in neighbor region of Várzea Grande. The scenery is green and water is plenty. Between World Cup matches, the suggestion to tourists will be to embark on an excursion and explore the exuberance of the Brazilian ‘Pantanal’,
as well as spending at least one day enjoying the biodiversity of the ‘Chapada dos Guimarães’ with its waterfalls, caves, tracks and the typical fauna of Brazil. And one shouldn’t miss trying the delicious local cuisine or visiting the arts and historic sites of the center of the Brazilian West. One should pack very light clothing, and drinking lots of liquids and taking lots of pictures are essential. Cuiabá will for sure become a place to remember for a long time, long past the World Cup, as an amazing tourist destination it truly is.

Brazil is getting ready for one of the biggest parties on the planet. The 2014 Carnaval promises to enter history with a record number of foreigners visiting this country, already hyper about the world Cup this year. Expectations are high and all host cities work on the final touches. In Salvador, the ‘trios’ (big party floats) are almost ready for the big party at the two official circuits, Barra and Campo Grande, and music stars Ivete Sangalo and Claudia Leite are keeping big surprises for this year. There rumors that before ‘Carnaval’ Claudia Leite would have gone to Los Angeles to finalize the final details of her presentation back home. It sounds like a mega production is on the way.
Empetur, responsible for tourism in the state of Pernambuco, is confident that this will be the biggest ‘Carnaval’ ever. Its president, André Correia, believes that the number of visitors should surpass the previous year. The cities of Recife and Olinda promise to come up with an even bigger mixture of rhythms, with ‘frevo’, ‘maracatu’, all mixed to the funk of singer Naldo, along with the country rhythm of Jorge and Matheus, as well as the ‘O Rappa’ band and Marcelo D2, who will be jump starting the party at the ‘marco zero’ of old Recife, side by side with Ariano Suassuna. The state of Pernambuco will also be represented at Marques de Sapucaí, in Rio de Janeiro, as the theme for the samba song for
Mocidade de Padre Miguel. The beautiful musical piece in tribute to “Pernambucópolis” is by Dudu Nobre. Other names in the music scene will also bring their Samba songs for this Carnaval, such as Elymar Santos, for Imperatriz Leopoldinense, Arlindo Cruz for Vila Isabel, and Xande de Pilares from the ‘Revelação’ band for Salgueiro. Hotels in the city of wonders (Rio) are booked solid for the Carnaval period. Besides the samba groups , smaller street carnival groups will also be shaking the city of Rio, as well as São Paulo with everything getting ready quickly for the big spectacle at the ‘sambódromo’ of Anhembi. Get the confetti and the streamers ready as the big show is about to begin.

Human beings are not perfect and are inclined to make mistakes. This is a universal truth. However it seems to be forgotten when it comes to love relationships. French president François Hollande, and his betrayal. Acoording to the French press, he’s been keeping a romance for a long time with actress Julie Gayet. Valérie herself had an affair with Hollande when he was still married to Ségolène Royal, the mother of his four children. The personal life of the French chief of state may not necessarily be of the interest of the public but when the subject involves feelings, the path of honesty is always the best way to take. In the case of Valérie, it seems that betrayal was not a clause in the pre-nup agreement and the lack of respect on the part of her husband has sent her to hospital.

em prol do Princess Margaret Hospital O sábado do dia 25 de janeiro reuniu 1200 mulheres de diferentes faixas de idade para apoiarem a luta contra o câncer de mama em prol do Princess Margaret Hospital. A criadora deste evento super feminino, Angie Machado declarou à etc&tal magazine a satisfaçāo em poder ver o salāo do Liuna Local 183 lotado e presenciar a alegria na fisionomia de cada uma dessas mulheres. Algumas delas até usaram adereços “pink”, cor oficial referente ao símbolo do câncer de mama, para entrarem no clima da festa. Angie nos falou que a organizaçāo da festa começa a partir de setembro e que ela nāo poderia organizar tudo se nāo tivesse o grande apoio de sua adorável família e de suas amigas incansáveis. “ E quando acaba o fim do dia e eu volto para casa as 5 da manhā, eu dou graças a Deus porque correu tudo bem.” Palavras de Angie.
A Elite Furs apresentou o seu desfile tradicional. Ivone Oliveira juntou algumas mulheres presentes na festa para exibirem os casacos de pele que renderam muitos elogios. A animaçāo desse ano ficou por conta da Banda Mexe Mexe que declarou ser uma grande satisfaçāo fazer um show para tantas mulheres com uma animaçāo incrível que dançaram, beberam e se divertiram naquela noite. Além do cantor brasileiro Alan Castro que também demonstrou bastante alegria em fazer parte dessa grande festa, o cantor Joe Puga vindo de Montreal e Enrique Cipriano que além de cantar, arrancou muitas risadas do mulheril. Clara Abreu, foi a MC da noite e a nossa equipe também abraçou a causa. Veja a cobertura a seguir.
