PHOTOGRAPHY Two years – A level Isaac Photography
Photography will introduce you to a variety of experiences, exploring a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. When you complete the course you’ll be able to express ideas using a range of specialist photographic techniques in a confident and assured manner. This course offers you the chance to explore your own creativity, develop your ideas, think critically, and learn to express yourself artistically with growing expertise within an innovative setting. Reasons to join us… Our students have exciting opportunities to travel and shoot on location with full use of state-ofthe-art equipment for innovative practice. Our small class sizes mean that you get the one-toone attention you need to develop your practice. You’ll have the chance to enter competitions with cash prizes, and receive advice and guidance on marketing and selling your own work. What will I study? On our photography (lens and light-based media) course you’ll produce practical and critical work in areas such as portraiture, landscape photography, still life, documentary photography, photojournalism, experimental imagery, photographic installation, and film. You will learn a range of studio and outdoor techniques that you will use as a tool box with which to express your unique ideas. Researching the work of other photographers and artists is also an integral part of the investigating and making process, and you will put together a digital portfolio documenting your research and the development of your own work. What’s next? Studying photography could lead to a degree in the arts, with future careers including photojournalism, commercial photography, animation, film, and television. Picture that! Some of our most recent students have gone on to study Graphic Design at Manchester University, Creative Advertising at the University of Leeds, Fashion Journalism at the University of the Arts London UAL, Games Design at Manchester Metropolitan University, and Photography at the University of Sunderland.
