PUBLIC SERVICES Do you have the discipline and determination it takes to work in the uniformed public service industries? Find out by signing up to one of our courses. Focusing on key services including fire and rescue, the police, ambulance, prison services, customs and excise and the armed forces you’ll be given a realistic introduction to what working life is really like in the uniformed services and get the skills to prepare you for this type of work. Our courses are developed with public service professionals and will give you the opportunity to explore potential careers and undertake work experience and engage with potential future employers. You can also complete the Duke of Edinburgh awards alongside your studies.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in and complete the Duke of Edinburgh awards. What will I study? Lessons include a mix of classroombased study and outdoor activities, expeditions and group work. You’ll learn about the demands of working in the different public service industries, improving health and fitness, outdoor activities as well as communication skills, teamwork and time management.
