SPECIALISED APPRENTICESHIPS

DESIGN AND DRAUGHTING Duration: 42-48 months

What will I do?

You will receive comprehensive off-thejob training. Training will be practical using equipment, tools and machinery found in the workplace. You will learn how to operate computers and peripheral hardware, access and use a range of software packages and produce drawings using computer aided drawing software.

You need:

You will study Functional Skills in English and maths, if you haven’t already achieved GCSE grade 9-4/A*-C in these subjects.

What’s next?

Progression on to a higher level engineering qualification or go into full-time employment.

PROJECT CONTROL Duration: 42-48 months

What will I do?

Practical training will include using industrial equipment, tools and project control software in the workplace. Using technical skills, working with others and managing yourself, you will learn how to develop, implement and eventually close out the project.

You will study Functional Skills in English and maths, if you haven’t already achieved GCSE grade 9-4/A*-C in these subjects.

Progression on to a higher level engineering qualification or go into full-time employment.

SCAFFOLDING Duration: 18-24 months

What will I do?

You will receive site-based practical experience along with comprehensive off-the-job training consisting of a number of scaffolding programmes: COTS Course, Tube & Fitting Scaffolding, System Scaffolding, Part 1A, Part 1B, Part 2A, and Part 2B.

You need:

You will study Functional Skills in English and maths, if you haven’t already achieved GCSE grade 9-4/A*-C in these subjects.

What’s next?

Progression on to a higher level engineering qualification or go into full-time employment.

RIGGING Duration: 36-42 months

What will I do?

You will specialise in the lifting and moving of extremely large or heavy objects, often with the assistance of a crane. You will get practical experience in lifting loads and slinging, along with the required health and safety training to enable you to work safely at all times.
