Travel and tourism is a major worldwide industry offering many different career pathways. By studying with us, your career really will take off. You can train to work for an airline, tourist attraction, a travel agent or pursue a career in conference management.

LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN CABIN CREW
Course length: 1 year
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This intriguing and exciting course is designed for those with an interest and thirst for working as a cabin crew member. It has a main focus of study on cabin crew staff and their responsibilities, and offers a depth of study relating to the key knowledge required for this industry. On this stimulating course you will learn about the job of cabin crew staff and the main health, safety and security responsibilities they hold. You will develop skills relating to selling techniques, and understand the importance of customer service within this role. You will gain knowledge on how to respond to both planned and unplanned emergencies and build confidence with making passenger announcements.
WHAT GRADES DO I NEED?
4 GCSEs grade 3/D or above or a level 1 qualification in a related course.
WHAT’S NEXT?
On completion of this course you can progress on to our Level 3 Certificate in Travel & Tourism, look to secure an apprenticeship or enter employment within the travel and tourism
LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN TRAVEL & TOURISM
Course length: 1 year
The aim of this new course is to provide those who have a passion for the travel and tourism sector, an understanding of the principles of the industry and allow them to explore the various avenues of work within this trade.
It will allow learners to gain transferrable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study. This course will really help your career take off. You will cover units linking to customer service skills in travel and tourism and the UK travel and tourism industry. You will also learn about the range of different careers within travel and tourism, and understand about travel destinations around the world. Sessions will be delivered through group and individual study, guest speakers and research.

On completion of this course you could enter either employment working within airports, travel agents, hotels or tour agencies, or continue with further study on to higher education. This qualification has UCAS points attached, meaning you can progress to study a travel and tourism, travel management or hospitality management related degree.

WHAT WILL I DO?
We will match you with local employers who are looking for an apprentice, guiding you through the application process. Once successful you will start work, learning the skills of the job as you go. On some apprenticeships you will spend one day a week at College. Apprenticeships last between one and four years.
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
If you are looking to start work straight away and prefer to learn in the working environment, then this could be the route for you. This is your opportunity to impress, so you will need to work hard, show dedication, determination and enthusiasm.
YOU NEED:
Entry requirements vary depending on the apprenticeship but all require that:
• You are 16 or over • You live in England and are not taking part in full-time education • You may need to come into College one day a week if your apprenticeship is in a trade such as construction, hair or beauty
ENGLISH AND MATHS
You will study functional skills in English and maths if you haven’t already achieved grade 9-4/A*-C at GCSE level. The grades you need vary depending on what level of apprenticeship you are studying. In some cases you will study ICT as part of your apprenticeship framework.
FYI:
The way apprenticeships work has changed and they now include an end point assessment. This assessment may include a professional discussion with an external assessor, an apprenticeship showcase (a bit like a portfolio), an observation in your workplace or a practical demonstration.
