3. Switch on The switch is located on the bottom. On the bottom plate you can see the robot number. Once switched to "on", wait for about 30 seconds; a green light comes on at the back and then the robot starts to vibrate, then flashes white on the bottom: this means that it is waiting for a connection.

7. Change the batteries If you want to continue to use the robot when its batteries are discharged, you can change the batteries directly instead of recharging it (remember to have previously charged the second set of batteries with the charger supplied). To do this, remove the top shell (by pressing on the sides and pulling upwards), unscrew the top plate and lift it to reach the battery compartment.

4. Connection Connect the computer to the wi-fi or bluetooth network created by the robot. The wi-fi password is the robot's name. Once connected, launch AlphAI, click on "connection". In case of update click on "ok" and wait until the robot flashes again in white. Update by wifi only. Click on "Start" to launch the robot. Load a demo configuration or consult our resources to go further. It is also possible to connect to the robot via Bluetooth (see the Tools menu and the documentation).

Change the batteries, screw the plate back on, and make sure to close the cover (check that the camera has not moved, make sure to fit the cover into its groove, you should hear a slight click).

8. Precautions /!\ Don't just hold the robot by the top shell: also hold it by the base.

5. Arena If you use the robot outside the optional arena, please note the following: The floor must be clean (dust damages the motors). Avoid carpeting. - It is preferable to have semi-rigid walls. If this is not the case, make sure that the robot does not move too fast. - If you use the camera, try to have a good contrast between the colour of the floor and the walls.

6. Autonomy The robot has a battery life of about 2 hours. To charge it, plug the charger through the hole in the back of the bumper. Charge the robot and the extra batteries before your activities. /!\Check that the robot is switched off. The robot takes about 2 hours to charge. When it is charging, a green light will come on inside (it can be seen through the hole in the bumper). When the robot is fully charged, this light goes out.

/!\ After opening the shell, be careful not to move the camera.

/!\ Dust damages motors: Clean the surface well before use. After use, clean the wheels. Do not run on carpet.

/!\ After switching on the robot, place it on the floor or in the arena: do not leave it on a table (from where it could fall when starting).

/!\ Check the polarity of the batteries. Never place the battery upside down in the robot or in the charger

/!\ If the robot is open, do not charge it with the top plug (always charge it with the plug at the bumper hole).
