Chinese Palace-style Classrooms On the TamKang campus, this area is the beginning of this university. There has a clear axis face the Danshui River and Guan Yin Mountain. Because the site is on the hillside, the view looking from there is very beautiful.
On this site, the axis is very strong and clear. I want to use it’s axis to create a space that can enjoy the view from here and also see the history of Tamkang. Because the site is on the hillside. Each buildings base are on different altitude, and the height creates spaces.

I designed a glass bridge as the obervatory of the Chinese Palace-style Classrooms. And the structure of the bridge ‘s structure is glass, too. So that, the obervaory won’t undermine the buildings’ completeness and let my design hide i nto the area.

Public space is the space for the residents. But why the usage of these space is low? And how to activate these space?
/ Concept /
Interlace The reasons for the low usage of the publice space: not easy to reach and only at particular area. By intertwining the traffic flow of the housing, increasing the chance of passing or entering the public space.
As usual, public space will place at top levels or bottom levels
Intertwining the living units and public space
Different kinds of public space will have different activities.

-Nongraded EducationNongraded education is the practice of teaching children of different ages and ability levels together, without dividing them (or the curriculum) into steps labeled by grade designations. Children move from easier to more difficult material at their own pace, making continuous progress rather than being promoted once per year. Curriculum and teaching practices are developmentally appropriate. Integrated curriculum fosters children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth (Gaustad 1992a).

The sea water erode the soft part of rock.Form the grooves, perpendicular to the shoreline, on the coast. In the north coast of Taiwan. There is a beach have the sea grooves, the rock is between the beach and the sea. Focus on the gaps between the rocks, the gaps change with time.Thinking about the relationship of water, sand and rocks.
Flow
When it’s flow, the gaps full of water , and most of the sand go off the gaps.
Ebb
When it’s ebb, the water leaves the gaps, and the sand comes into the gaps.
Northcoast Sea Grooves [[ Nature Phenomena ďźš Sea Erosion ]]
The little changes in the gaps can create dynamic change for large continuous space.
The view from above stay always same, but the sapce in the gaps dramatically changes.
[[ Concept ]] The tide let the water and sand interwork the gaps, and create dynamic changes of the sea grooves, in the gaps and whole space. There are some cavities under the rows of rocks. So, the changes happen not only in one direction, but also in cross-section.
The relationship of water, sand and rocks
Water is essentially unchanged. But the amount of water will change the gaps. And the rocks is static and un-changed and the water and sand change it. When the gaps turn into 3-dimensional space. The gaps are createe between the volumns. And programs, activities and space will change the entire space in dynamic way.
