SPRING / SUMMER 2018
About Eton We have crafted fine men’s shirts since 1928. Our original factory and headquarters remain in Gånghester, Sweden, where our very first shirts were sewn. Evolving from Swedish craftsmanship and attention to detail, Eton is today a global leading shirt maker and can be found in 49 markets at the world’s most exclusive stores. In many ways, the story of Eton is the story of its founders, David and Annie Pettersson. In the early years of their marriage, Annie began sewing dresses from their kitchen for family and neighbors. When the Depression hit in the 1920s, David was forced to close the family’s sawmill. This led him to join his wife, whose business, by contrast, was growing quickly. Together, the two launched Syfabriken Special (Swedish for “The Special Sewing Factory”) and opted to place their primary attention on the creation of men’s shirts, which soon became popular among the locals. Fast forward, two generations later, Hans Davidson, the grandson of Annie and David, leads Eton into the future. Annie’s credo remains the company’s guiding principal... “to never hand over a shirt unless you are completely satisfied with the quality”.
A journey in style As a seasoned traveler, you know how to combine business with pleasure. Effortless elegance is key on the road. Your outfits must be versatile enough to work for meetings, evening, leisure and being in constant motion. Eton’s crease resistant shirts make sure you always look fresh. The perfect travelling companion.
The Eton Process Cotton
Production
100% ELS (Extra Long Staple) cotton.
The Eton shirt is made in Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, and Sweden.
Exclusively Pima from Northern California and Giza from Eqypt. Finest cotton available in the world, accounting for only 3% of the world’s production.
Spinning and weaving The cotton is spun and woven in collaboration with leading mills and weavers in Europe. All fabrics are woven to ensure the best possible appearance and performance.
Finishing Our specialized finishing process takes four weeks to complete and has more than 40 steps. Eton’s process changes the molecular structure of the cotton fibers (an irreversible process) to make the fabric permanently crease-resistant. Eton Collection shirts use a creaseresistant treatment that in many ways differ from others. The fabric remains breathable, moisture-absorbent and retains a comfortable feel even after frequent washing. Our finishing is carried out in Europe (Switzerland and Germany), and is the final step in creating our highperformance fabrics.
Our shirts are handmade by over 700 craftsmen and women. There are approximately 45 parts in a shirt and is crafted by 75 pairs of hands. It takes more than 12000 stitches to complete a shirt and Eton uses 7-8 stitches per cm. Collars, cuffs and placket are top-fused to ensure a clean and crisp look all day. Each buttonhole is completed using more than 150 stitches, twice the industry standard. Both sleeve seams and side seams are sewn twice with a single needle interlocking stitching technique for a smooth surface and excellent comfort.
Design and details Our design team exclusively creates all of Eton’s fabric and designs. Eton uses no open market piece goods.

By caring for your shirt in the right way, you not only increase its life length, but also decrease its negative impact on the environment.
General Guidelines Always follow the washing instruction for each shirt. Unbutton, turn up the collar and turn the shirt inside out. Do not overfill the washing machine. Set the washing machine on a low spin-dry. Once the washing program is finished, hang it on a hanger and button the collar. Stretch the cuff, collar and front placket softly. Do not wring the shirt. A light ironing may be desirable for that extra finishing touch. Avoid ironing the cuffs and collar on a high heat setting, lower the heat and iron them gently.
