Out of total of 640 individuals tested at Sukkur quarantine, 543 have been returned to their respective districts to be home quarantined while 91 opted to stay because of lack of available facilities at their residences The administration and services of 100 bedded hospital equipped with emergency services has been handed over to the Sindh Government by a private citizen for public use during COVID-19 emergency

The numbers of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Pakistan has risen to 1128 with an increase of 128 new cases during the last 24 hours. The country has had Eight (08) deaths due to COVID-19. 21 cases are fully recovered and discharged while 5 cases are in a critical condition. Figure 1shows the daily number of COVID-19 cases in Pakistan. 102 new cases were reported on 25th March as compared to 108 cases reported on 24th
Pakistan Preparedness and Response
Coordination •
Government of Punjab has developed three contingency plans to deal with burden of disease. o
The first scenario is to get 1,000 beds prepared for possible patients
o
The second scenario is to get 3,000 beds prepared for possible patients
o
The third scenario is to get 10,000 prepared for possible patients
•
The first scenario is no longer applicable based on the current situation therefore the other two scenarios will be investigated further for possible implementation by next week.

CM Punjab chaired high level daily Steering Committee meeting: The following are the action points: o
•
Specialized health Care and Medical Education Department will operationalize 1000 bedded field hospital at expo center Lahore by 6th April. Out of the total beds 300 will be allocated for the critical care o Corona Expert Advisory Group (CEAG) Punjab has been established to assist the Cabinet Committee. WHO sub office is the member of CEAG Punjab Chief Minister Task Forces in Sindh discussed the options of increasing testing facilities in the province. Massive screening process based on Korean Model is under discussion

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was visited by a joint team of Department of Health and WHO to assess the diagnostic capacity and to identify the gaps for timely reporting

Health Care Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out assessment of private labs for undertaking COVID-19 testing. 332 Bedded isolation unit established at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital Bannu, KPK province

Trainings/Capacity Building •
WHO provided technical assistance in training of health professionals in critical care management in the province of Sindh

Around 8533 health professionals have been trained in KPK on COVID response by DoH and WHO
Risk communication and community engagement •
The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination has established a helpline number (1166), an online coronavirus platform and a chatbot to respond to public concerns and clarifications for misinformation regarding COVID-19. In the last 24 hours 23,000 calls have been received

Pakistan Telecommunication has issued directions to all operators to allow free calls onhelpline1166 (for COVID-19)
Surveillance and Screening at Points-of-Entry (PoEs) • • • •
SOP’s for the management and referral of Pregnant women were adapted by Integrated Reproductive Maternal Neonatal Child Health (IRMNCH) programme, Punjab Pilgrims and other travelers (without symptoms) are being continuously monitored at their homes in Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Gilgit Baltistan Advisory on COVID-19/National guidelines for clinical care and laboratory investigations and National action plan havebeen shared with all the concerned for compliance Health Care Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out assessment of private labs for undertaking COVID-19 testing
Epidemiological Analysis The daily trend of the new confirmed COVID-19 cases reflect sharp increase in the confirmed case in Sindh and Punjab province from mid of March. The reason partially is a result of improved case detection and availability to Lab testing facility in both the provinces. In addition, the rising trend is also noted in the other provinces too.

Since the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic 8 death have been reported in Pakistan with Case Fatality Rate 0.7%. Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 3 deaths each. Out of the total 1,128 confirmed cases 21 cases fully recovered and have been discharged.
