Control Room Health Dept Govt. of Balochistan operational 24/7 for any kind of information & coordination regarding COVID-19 activities in Balochistan 081-9202080 / 111-400-400. The numbers of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Balochistan has risen to 495 with 30 new cases including overall 06 death (CFR 1.2). The active cases are 322 in province. 0ut of 495, 70% (347) cases are local transmission from Quetta (278), Chagai (11) Lorlai (06), Jaffarabad (19), Khuzdar (01) , Mastung (10), Kharan (02) Pishin (09), Killabdullah (05), Sibi (05) and Harnai (01). 06 positive cases (Home Isolated) from Quetta came negative and completely revered. Total recovered cases are 167 in Balochistan. In meeting with stakeholders including UN agencies, NGOs and INGOs it was directed to support DoH in controlling outbreak of COVID-19 as per their organization mandate and share plan. The District health management team Quetta with the support of RRT and MERC screened 1178 and 265 samples have been taken from suspects.

The mortality rate of the globe is 7%, country (Pakistan 2%) and the lowest r is from Balochistan province which is only 1%. The recovery rate of the globe is 26%, country (Pakistan 21%) and the highest rate is from Balochistan province which is 36%. The overall mortality and recovery rate of Balochistan province is better if compare to Globe, Country and other provinces which shows good response to disease. There are total 06 deaths in Balochistan province. The primary reason of 04 deaths are renal failure / other co-morbidities. The deaths are taken because secondary came COVID-19 positive.

Provincial rapid response team conducted meeting with FJ Lab staff for Positive COVID-19 repeat R1 and R2 tests Protocols and sharing of R1 result before routine lab results. Screened 5 suspected and Lab sample collected. Compiled home isolated positive cases details Repeat tests of 4 Positive Cases conducted and 3 COVID-19 positive cases recovered after negative lab results Total 8 tablets for District RRT Quetta received which will be handed over to DHO Quetta and RRTs will collect the samples on these tabs District Quetta RRTs and PCSIR Training plan finalized for 22nd and 23rd April 2020. WHO Kalat team conducted a meeting with RRT team of Tehsil Mangochar and oriented Quarantine staff of Mangochar on COVID19, in which total 9 staff. 2 MO, 2 Pharmacist 1 FMT, 3 Dispensers 1 Peon. Discussed IPC, Case Investigation, and Case Management of COVID-19 with them. PEO-Washuk did Active AFP Surveillance and ILI case search in BHU WASHUK. AFP Surveillance orientation with Risk communication & Risk assessment with IPC awareness for 3 MO, 4 health care providers and 2 community influencers were oriented to strengthen COVID-19 RRT in district WASHUK.

Local transmission of cases in Balochistan •

0ut of 495, 70% (347) cases are local transmission from Quetta (278), Chagai (11) Lorlai (06), Jaffarabad (19), Khuzdar (01) , Mastung (10), Kharan (02) Pishin (09), Killabdullah (05), Sibi (05) and Harnai (01).

The 80% of cases are belong from Quetta followed by Jaffarabad 5% and 03% each from Chagai, Pishin and Mastung.

Now the new coronavirus / COVID-19, the illness it causes, are spreading among communities in Quetta and other part of the province. Due to high number of local transmission cases the community strongly follow the DoH instructions and stay home to avoid positive contact and do social distancing if meet some one new or go outside.
