HIGHLIGHTS •

• •

COVID-19 is spreading very fast in Balochsitan province. The number

of confirmed cases has risen to 978 with 63 new cases including overall 14 death (CFR 1.4). The active cases are 784 in province. Local transmission is increasing, out of 978, 84% (826) cases are from local community, Quetta (704), Chagai (14) Lorlai (06), Jaffarabad (21), Khuzdar (01),Mastung (13), Kharan, (03) Nushki (02), Pishin (42), Killabdullah (08), Sibi (08) Ziarat (03) and Harnai (01). 04 positive cases came negative from SKBZ and discharged. The total recovered are 180. The COVID-19 positivity rate is 11%, 77% of cases are male, the mean age of cases were 35 years with age range of 2 months -94 years.

The total deaths are 14 in province due to Co-Morbidity with COVID-19. The primary reason of deaths are renal failure / other co-morbidities. The deaths are taken because secondary came COVID-19 positive. Death Category with positive COVID-19 03 Renal Failure 06 Hypertension/Diabetes 04 ARDS/COPD 01 Carcinoma


The most affected age group was 30-44 years 33.66% (n=308) followed by 15-29 years 26.45% (n=242). The highest attack rate (257/1000000 population) was in age group 60+ years followed by 45-59 Years age group (AR=192/1000000 population). The overall attack rate was 69/1000000 population in Province.

Surveillance / Rapid Response Team / PDSRU: •

P.RRT attended meeting at DC Office Quetta regarding safe and dignified burial and shifting of COVID-19 cases to Hospitals. DC Quetta notified the Burial committee; the members will be trained by RRT. P. RRT screened 62 persons for COVID-19 and took 47 Lab samples of suspected cases from Kuchlak and airport Road Quetta. On 29th April 2020 total 4 COVID-19 Positive cases (2 each from SKBZ and home isolated) recovered and released after negative Repeat tests results. The RRTs on 29th April 2020 totally screened 2162 persons with following details, P. RRT 62,Quetta 723,Pishin 12, KillaAbdullah 20, Lasbella 723 and Harnai 142 persons for COVID-19. RRTs took 235 lab samples of Suspected COVID-19 cases with following details, P. RRT 47, Quetta 176, Pishin 12 samples.

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF 915 CAES TILL 28 APRIL 2020 A total of Nine Hundred and fifteen (915) confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported from Balochistan. The case fatality rate was 1.5%. The mean age of cases were 35 years, median age was 34 years, and with age range of 2 months -94 years. Mean Age

Gender Distribution: The male 77% (654) were affected than females 23% (n=199). The male to female ratio was 3.2: 1.
