GOVERNOR HONORS MAG’S WORK WITH BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and First Lady Catherine O’Malley hosted the Naval Academy Midshipman Action Group and Big Brothers Big Sisters at Government House April 22. Midshipmen met with children enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program throughout the academic year, spending several hours playing sports and participating in other activities to develop a bond with the children. “This program has greatly influenced my life, not only at the academy, but in many aspects,” said Midshipman 1st Class Colleen McFadden. “I am so grateful for having the opportunity to participate in it, and feel so blessed to have the MAG program at school.”

MWR Fitness at NSA Annapolis hosts a Boot Camp Class from May 8 to July 15 on Tuesday and Thursdays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the MWR Recreation Services Bldg. #89. Free for active duty. Reservists, retired military, DoD civilian employees, USNA contractors, NAAA and Alumni Association personnel and midshipmen pay $5 per class for drop-in rate. MWR Annapolis’ North Severn Pool (NSA Annapolis) and South Severn Pool (across from Gate 8), opens May 26. Swimming lessons run June 18-28 and July 9-19.
