CLASS OF 2015: PLEBES NO MORE The midshipmen of the Naval Academy’s Class of 2015 formed a human pyramid around the Herndon monument May 22 to attempt the annual climb to replace the plebe cap at the top of the monument with an upperclassman one. The 21-foot obelisk was covered in grease to make the climb more challenging, but after two hours, 10 minutes and 13 seconds, Midshipman 4th Class Andrew Craig, of Tulsa, Okla., reached the top and switched out the caps, bringing plebe year to a close. The event represents the end of the plebes’ first, rigorous year at the academy and their progression to third class midshipmen, or “youngsters.” > > FA C E B O O K
