Designed by world-renowned golf architect Tom Fazio, the $2.4 million Warren-Greene Golf Center sits on 14 acres of land overlooking the ETSU campus. Named in honor of longtime ETSU men's golf coach Fred Warren and ETSU golf supporter William B. Greene, Jr., the Warren-Greene Golf Center includes six target greens, two bentgrass greens (one for putting and one for shortgame work), three tee areas, a fairway bunker and four greenside bunkers. The accompanying 3,300-square-foot, two-story building, designed by Ken Ross Architects of Johnson City, Tenn., contains coaches' offices, meeting rooms, the Hal Morrison Hall of Fame room, players' lounge, two indoor hitting bays, and an observation deck. Fred
Warren Head Coach 25th Season Entering his 25th season at ETSU and his 33nd year overall, Hall of Fame head coach Fred Warren continues to build a winning tradition for the Buccaneers, guiding them into the national spotlight on a yearly basis. As the 2010-11 season approaches, Warren – who was inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America’s Hall of Fame in December of 2003 – and the Bucs are coming off a 2009-10 campaign which saw the team once again reach NCAA regional competition. Additionally, the Bucs won the Atlantic Sun Conference championship for the second time making it the 22nd conference title in school history. With that victory, the Bucs also set a school record with four victories during the spring season. Seamus Power also won the Atlantic Sun individual title for the second time in his career. Individually, Rhys Enoch tied for medalist honors at the NCAA East Regional and earned a bid to the NCAA Championship. The Bucs also succeeded again in the classroom as the team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America with the President’s Special Recognition for earning a team GPA of 3.5 or higher. In 2008-09, Warren helped guide freshman Michael Stewart to an individual title in the Atlantic Sun Conference championships, while Stewart joined teammates Seamus Power and Rhys Enoch on the first team All A-Sun squad. In fact, Power was named the league’s Player of the Year, while Stewart garnered Freshman of the Year honors. The squad was coming off a 2007-08 campaign in which it earned a Top 15 ranking throughout much of the year, and made its 20th trip to the NCAA Championships, finishing 22nd on the team leaderboard. Since his arrival in 1986, the Warren-led Buccaneer program has been a consistent performer among the nation’s elite, finishing in the top 13 six times and in the top 25 13 times since 1989 – including a third-place finish at the 1996 NCAA Championships and a ninth-place finish in 2001. During the past 24 seasons, Warren’s Buc squads have won 44 tournaments, including the 2001 NCAA East Regional at Williamsburg, Va. During the 2000-01 season, his squad won four tournaments, including three straight from April to May. Even more impressive, his 1995-96 team won six events, tying national champion Arizona State and Florida for the most tournament wins during the year, and was ranked as the No. 1 team in the country during part of the year. Just three years after arriving in Johnson City, Warren returned ETSU to the top of the Southern Conference, a position where the Bucs remained for 12 of the next 17 years. Warren led the Bucs to league titles from 1989-92, 1994-96, 1998-2001, and in 2005, his 12 championships broke the 54-year-old SoCon record of 11 titles held by

ETSU and the SoCon Championships The Buccaneers captured the Southern Conference men’s golf championship 17 times after joining the league in 1979 -- the most by any conference member. ETSU was dominant from the beginning, winning five straight titles from 1979-1983. Making the numbers even more impressive is the fact that ETSU did not have a men’s golf team from 1984-86. Most recently, the Bucs won six straight titles from 1996 to 2001, and bid farewell to the SoCon with a championship in 2005. The Bucs won eight of 10 titles during the '90s and began this decade by winning the 2000 and 2001 championships. The Buccaneers won 12 of 15 championships. Along with the team accolades, many ETSU players have received conference honors. The Bucs have had 12 individual conference champions -- including Patrick Beste in 2000 and Chris Wisler in 1999. The Bucs joined the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2006.

HYDROWORX
ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF Brian Johnston
Director of Athletic Medicine
Without a doubt the most used piece of equipment in the athletic training facility is the Hydroworx polar plunge pool. It is used by all teams on a daily basis post practice and used by all injured athletes under the care of the athletic training staff. Along with the cold pool is a Hydroworx 500 therapy pool. This pool has a treadmill as part of the floor and two cameras mounted on the front and side of the pool. This gives visual feedback to the athlete and athletic trainer during treatment.
FLUROSCAN The “Mini C Arm” located in the athletic training room allows for quick and efficient exams by the team physician for those athletes that might need an x-ray.

GENERAL ATHLETIC TRAINING AREA The general athletic training area is approximately 3500 square feet and services the day-to-day practice and competition preparation for the entire athletic department. With 17 treatment tables, various modalities and a large exercise area the general athletic training area allows multiple teams to receive treatment at the same time. Attached to the general athletic training area are three private rooms. Each room is equipped with a treatment table and combination therapy unit as well as one other distinguishing characteristic. The “Normal” room is for IV therapy, the “College” room is for casting and splinting, and the “University” room is for traction.

The Center of Excellence for Sport Science and Coach Education The Center of Excellence was established July 1, 2008, and is housed in the College of Education. It incorporates three very important aspects of competitive sports: education, service, and research. The former Sport Performance Enhancement Consortium (SPEC) is now a very active branch of the Center of Excellence. The SPEC program continues to be a collaborative effort between Intercollegiate Athletics and the Sport Science Lab in the Department of Kinesiology, Leisure and Sport Sciences. Buccaneer student-athletes in collaboration with sport science, sport medicine, and the sport coach have the opportunity to have their program evaluated and monitored throughout their college career. This monitoring and evaluation process produces one of the most advanced training environments in the nation. This type of relationship is not found anywhere in the U.S. and offers a unique opportunity for the advancement of athletic performance, athlete and coach education and sport science research. The program is dedicated to meeting the following goals: 1. Providing monitoring services for the ETSU sport teams 2. Supporting and providing up-to-date information to coaches regarding coaching practices. 3. Advising on the Training Process 4. Providing an opportunity for the interaction between sport scientists, medical staff, strength and conditioning staff and the ETSU Sport Coaches.

Over the past decade one of the biggest changes in collegiate athletics has been the new attitude toward strength and conditioning. ETSU’s success on the field could not have happened without the hard work and dedication of each student-athlete in the weightroom. Under the direction of head strength coach Lee Morrow, who is currently in his 26th season at ETSU, the Buccaneers have earned eight Gatorade/National Strength Coaches Association All-American Team honors. With its recent collaboration with the Sports Performance Enhancement Consortium (SPEC) ETSU’s strength and conditioning program has focused its efforts on helping each student-athlete reach his/her greatest athletic potential, in the areas of strength, speed, agility and injury prevention. Located inside Memorial Center, the ETSU’s strength and conditioning complex features one of the finest weightrooms in the area. Overall, the Buccaneers have access to a 7,200-foot facility that features state-of-the-art equipment, including customized full power racks, Hammer-Strength machines, including bench press, incline press, military press, rowing machines, speed mats, pull-up and other impressive array of sports performance tools. Through the SPEC and strength and conditioning web site, ETSU student-athletes have 24-hour access to workout plans, nutrition, and other information that monitors each individual or team off-season conditioning program.
