OUR PHILOSOPHY ETT’s commitment is not simply that of a knowledge integrator. The philosophy is much more wide-ranging and is a Best Practice, placing ETT at the centre of a process comprising analysis, development and implementation of a complex system of design, tools and content that brings the exhibit to life.

MUSEUM OF THE CITY The continuous interchange between storytelling and teaching, and between emotion and playing, continues on the floor dedicated to the city museum. From ancient Segesta Tigulliorum to working-class Sestri, from historical facts to local culture, and through the eyes of characters who have given the city lustre and who literally come to life before the visitor (thanks to innovative ETT solutions), such as Guglielmo Marconi and Hans Christian Andersen.
It is an unconventional form of exploration, using fingertips to click buttons that take visitors through time, touching a screen to explore physical finds and digitally reproduce historical documents. Sensors may be activated simply by getting close to them, setting off sounds, audio-visual systems and projections that give naturally interactive multi-sensory experiences, such as talking paintings which describe historical periods in a precise but engaging storytelling style. Among the many stories about Sestri Levante, there is also space for migration.

MEDIEVAL EXCAVATION
With two ‘digs’ available for visitors, the plunge into history is immediate. The simplified stratigraphic sequences contain some copies of exhibits found during an archaeological campaign. The visitor digs in the sand, brings out the find, places it near the multimedia station sensor and proceeds to identify it, obtaining information on the origin, use, material and age. Public response to this and the many other facilities at the Musel is proof of the effectiveness of an approach that exploits new media potential, stimulating active achievement and creating continuous opportunities for interactive learning.
