Polish Independence Day - a national holiday in Poland celebrated annually on November 11 to commemorate Poland regaining independence in 1918, after 123 years of partitions
Polish Independence Day The choice of November 11 can be justified by the coincidence of events in Poland with the end of World War I. November 11, 1918, sealing the final defeat of Germany. The day before, Józef Piłsudski arrived in Warsaw. On these two days, November 10 and 11, 1918, the Polish nation became fully aware of regaining independence, and the mood of deep emotion and enthusiasm enveloped the country.
Józef Piłsudski Józef Piłsudski has rendered tremendous merits to our nation through his many years of uncompromising fight for independence. Although he was self-taught - he did not undergo basic military service and did not study at any military school - he successfully commanded an army of over a million.
