What’s about our

THE PROJECT

Out of the Box is a creativity festival. Starting from the idea of making a festival with a lot of activities, we decided to put an accent on the manual side. We mostly wanted to target students from art and design school; the point is to share all of your skills with other students. You can learn, have fun and feel free to express yourself through your art. Thanks to workshops and interactive activities, the idea is to transform something personal and individual to something plural and big, which consolidates all of the styles that the young artists will propose.

CONCEPT ?

PROBLEME STATEMENT We found that the ADCE in Barcelona was maybe too elitist, too professional, even if there are great workshop. Then we found that Great Festival od Creativity Shanghai was too severe and the subject was too serious (urban, technology…) and as ADCE, it is too professional, it misses the « festival » dimension. «World Creativity Festival», seems like a joke, the site is really not professional and we don’t want to be a part of this because, at the contrary of the other festival, it seems amateur. « message form the president »… we don’t have to explain anymore, they really don’t pay attention to their communication design, that is too bad for a creativity festival.

OUR CONCEPT

We try to be the more fun and chill festival ever. We do not want hierarchy or students to be impress by other, we want to be real, franc and equal to what they expect, simple, young… Through our dynamic and colourful communication, we want to transmit our way of thinking, our ideas and our will. The problem can be resolve easily, just being more fluid and soft, to appease the professional side, then having good ideas that bring the target attention. They have to feel like it is a huge festival, not just a simple workshop, there is music, beer... It’s a different atmosphere. But, keeping light ideas of vigour, to be taken seriously.

ADCE In Barcelona was created in 1990 by a group of professional design and advertising associations from around Europe. Today it is still owned and managed by its members, and its mission remains the same: to foster and reward excellence and to showcase European creativity as a whole. We do that by representing the best of European advertising and design in an increasingly globalised market. The ADCE helps us speak European by enabling us to value Europe’s diverse cultures, simultaneously favouring and benefiting national clubs around Europe. Recognised as an authoritative voice internationally, ADCE promotes European creativity to the world and brings creatives together in Europe and beyond through its annual awards, events, programmes and publications. The Great Festival of Creativity event supported British businesses looking to secure opportunities and growth in China. More than 500 world leading British companies used the festival to reach Chinese and global business audiences to show how British creativity can help their businesses innovate and grow. World Creativity Festival 2016 is a field of festival for both Korean and international students to compete and challenge their abilities and creative skills in problem-solving. It has been a national event held since 1997, and has taken its second step into the international arena. This festival provides opportunities for students/adults to foster their creative future-oriented mind as well as to build an amicable reationship between Korean and international students. Throughout this festival, we anticipate that the students’ creative potential will be recognized and nurtured so as to meet the demands of the new 21st century.

WHY ?

Our logotype

The naming of our festival comes from our idea to be original and unique. its also a pun with the expression «to be out of the box». We want our logo to be recognisable, so we play with the notion of in and out with the form and the name. The naming is literally coming out of the box.

SIGNAGE

At the beginning we chose a colour for each discipline and we did a logo variation for each one. Then, we included this logotype on a big banner for each discipline to create a signage system. We wanted to create a visual system that people could identify easily. The idea of this is to take the colours and shapes of the logo and use them as arrows on a corner for pointing the different zones in the event.

O3 FINAL DESIGN INTERACTIVE POSTER Be interactive with pepople. Share with people is one of the out of the box festival principles, with the interactive poster ÂŤMake your own posterÂť the viewer is directly involved in the project, this is a festival that is built through its partcipants so what better than to make them do their own poster while they are waiting at the bus stop, then they could share it on social networks and try to win a place for the festival if their poster is the winner of the social networks contest.
