May 13 Meeting Brings More Volunteers Impending passage of new mandatory core standards brings new faces to volunteer for the DGL Board of Realtors® A mass email from the board office warning all members about the implications of ignoring the proposed standards resulted in attendance of 20 members for the May 13 meeting. The new core standards, which were later passed by the NAR Board of Directors, were explained and discussed in detail. Input from the group resulted in new ideas and ways to comply with the
standards in order to keep our local association in place. Committee Volunteers See the included list of members volunteering on behalf of the association so that you will be able to continue to operate with the DGL organization. Please get involved and volunteer YOUR time to do your part, as well. There are still open committee positions, and many hands will make lighter work.

NAR Board Passes New Mandatory Core Standards On May 17, 2014, the NAR Board of Directors approved a motion that mandatory Core Standards for Associations of Realtors® be adopted, and that every local and state association shall annually demonstrate compliance with these standards. Local associations will be responsible for communicating and describing the programs, products and services of national and state associations such that all members will understand value propositions at all three levels. This newsletter will attempt to cover one standard per month for our members:
CONSUMER OUTREACH It is imperative that REALTOR® associations create and execute on an engagement model which will provide for significant and effective consumer outreach. This effort will enhance our members’ ability to generate more business opportunities and assist the REALTOR® organization as a whole in reaching its advocacy objectives.
