BLADE TECHNOLOGY Flex and strength are tuned into each blade size and shape through the utilization of Biaxial and Uni-Directional cloths. Carbon blade technology offers a custom woven Biaxial 60/60 degree Carbon cloth and a new high density PVC core absorbing less resin. The new Push Handle shape has a flattened neck that allows the paddler to push forwards to transfer power, without needing to hold a tight grip. HYBRID CARBON The new Hybrid Carbon shaft looks like carbon and is 27 grams (10%) lighter and stronger than 2015 Premium.
Paired with Starboard’s Enduro and Bolt Tiki Tech blades, Hybrid Carbon provides an economical yet great combination for all paddlers. The Round shaft is the most versatile shaft, feeling light and lively, it is typically preferred for allround paddling and waves: Sean Poynter and Zane Schweitzer’s choice for wave riding.
Reduced Diameter Shaft [RDS] by 3mm for lighter riders who require a smaller grip. Suited for kids, women and racers who want a shaft that feels slight in the hand. Shaft length adults (165cm) and kids (130cm).
The stiffness of the shaft is measured by applying 30 kg in the center of the shaft, supported at 140cm distance, to measure the deflection in mm. If the shaft bends, it shows a higher deflection resulting in more flex, compared to a stiffer shaft with low deflection. The 35mm has the lowest flex, 42mm has the highest flex.

The 9’0” Pro is suited for riders up to 95kg. Volume has been redistributed from the rails to the standing area, maintaining floatation, whilst increasing reactivity. Tight pocket turning and vertical lip attacks are enhanced even further to handle all wave conditions.
8ft has become the “go to” length for tight pocket turning amongst more experienced riders. The 29” came into the range for riders up to 85kg who liked the 8’0” length, but found the stability a little overwhelming.
Super smooth and responsive, the slightest toe pressure will initiate a rail to project you down the line at speed. Ultimate all round rip stick for 65 to 80kg riders.
For the 65 to 75kg rider, the 7’7” is the perfect blend of float and rip-ability. The mono-concave hull is fast down the center line and curvy on the rail, providing fast tight gouges and ability to re-direct vertically.

RAClNG REVOLUTlON For 2016, the challenge was simply to design one board that could outperform competitors in every category. The design started with morphing the efficient All Star rail with the speed from the triple concave bottom shape of the Race, making it a winner on flat water. The added nose volume and refined overall volume distribution made the hull easy and sensationally fast downwind. We built and tested some 25 different prototypes allowing us to fine tune and push limits to produce a revolutionary design far superior to anything we have presented before. Mat Rauzier and Svein Rasmussen led the development with support from Titouan Puyo, Bart De Zwart, Zane Schweitzer, Beau O’Brian and Connor Baxter. Like most creatures in the ocean, Starboards Raceboards have noticeable flex, thus utilising the energy generated from the body moving up and down during paddle strokes.
