The raven, Edgar Allan Poe This extract from a narrative poem "The raven" introduces the autumn-winter 2015/16 collection, "awaken". In this poem, the main character remembers through the raven his love far her departed Lenore. One part of him wants to forget the pain caused by her loss but his soul cannot resist to relive her memories. This collection is about memories. Our memories, positive or negative, define who we are in the present. As human beings, we evolve constantly enriched by the remembrance of our experience. The collection is a saturation of mysticism to evoke the deepest memories buried in our soul. The "awaken" memories are visualized by the manipulation and the experimentation of fabrics. From a distance, the collection looks monochromatic but as you get closer, the intricate surfaces become visible. The frayed fabric creates unique patterns and abstract outlines that make this collection meaningfully exquisite. The silhouette is simple but magnified and made surrealistic by the use of the fabrics. The colour palette consists of different shades of black: Charleston green and Eerie black, Charcoal and outer space black.
