OUT AND ABOUT

Eumundi Outdoor Movies

Eumundi Voice out and about

Eumundi Voice gets around. Earlier this month, one of our Eumundi Voice experienced volunteers Rhonda Pigott was at the Icefields Skywalk between Jasper and Banff in the Canadian Rockies. The skywalk is glass bottomed and cantilevered above a canyon and not for the faint hearted! An engineering feat amidst the glacial landscape.

Congratulations to Jacqui and her team for another successful expo!

Cooroy Bowls pairs champions

Cooroy Community Bowls Club held its annual pairs championships recently, with the finals held on 4 August. The ultimate winners were Justin Beneke and Graham Leitch, with the runners up being Maureen Bottomley and Michael Loe.

The competition was close, with the scores seesawing until the final end, which saw Graham

and Justin gain the upper hand. All four bowlers enjoyed the fun of the challenge, keeping spectators on their toes until the final bowl was delivered.

New era for The Imperial Hotel

On 21 September, the Comiskey family welcomed friends, staff, business associates, and the community to celebrate the opening of the new front bar, gaming room, and TAB at The Imperial Hotel. The event marked a new era with a ceremonial wooden keg tapping and an array of delicious food and drinks.

Director David Comiskey undertook the tapping of the ceremonial wooden keg at the opening party. As a hands-on Director with a background in architecture, David oversees the construction of each property and works closely with the

groups dedicated construction team. “Our construction team gave it their all, they’re the best in the business and we appreciate all their efforts. We briefly put our tools down to enjoy a Eumundi Lager in the new front bar together, but we’re now back to work on the rest of the hotel. We have more than double the work ahead of us and we estimate another 6 months to complete the extensive renovation,” said David.
