Christmas lights

There is still time to go for a drive and marvel at the thousands of Christmas lights in local neighbourhoods.

The Riddell family have been putting up their Christmas lights display for 26 years in honour of their grandson who they lost to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). They can be viewed at 37 Don Napier Rd, Eumundi from 6-8.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6-9pm Friday to Sunday.

At Yandina seek out 31 and 33 Maple Ct, Maroochydore Cct and Quondong Ct. At Peregian Springs visit Augusta Cct, Brushbox Cct, Riviera Cres, Sandhurst Cres and Gracemere Bvd. Noosa Regional Gallery

The light fades but the gods remain is a major exhibition at Noosa Regional Gallery showcasing two key series of works by Bill Henson. To celebrate its 25th anniversary the Museum of Australian Photography commissioned Bill to revisit Glen Waverley where he grew up and produce a new body of work reflecting on his earlier series Untitled 1985-86.

Sharing the gallery with Henson in this year’s final exhibition is one of Qld’s most celebrated

Jason, Jason, Jason …

Jimmy Rees lands at The Events Centre, Caloundra on 1 March as part of a national regional tour. Jimmy began his career as Jimmy Giggle in Giggle & Hoot, an award-winning ABC Kids program.

During covid his audience broadened to four million viewers with his quick-witted comedy sketches on social media poking fun at Australian cities and culture and his parody of a knowit-all boss providing instruction to his young assistant, Jason.
