Euroglas Solar- solar glass fascination

As part of the special show "glass technology live", the latest developments and technologies in the fields of photovoltaics, solar thermal energy as well as summer and winter thermal protection will be presented using various exhibits. This year, the exhibition entitled "Energy Efficiency with Glass“. This will be the architects’ and engineers’ topic at the high-profile symposium. There are a variety of lectures, therefore we have chosen some of the most interesting ones (see table below).

Euroglas Solar- with our newly built pillar, we see ourselves as an innovative partner for a discourse between art glass processing and the highest quality products, as a supplier for solar energy or rather photovoltaic industry. Since June 2009 we have been producing at our location in Haldensleben, close to the Solar Valley Central Germany, refined front - and back glasses of the brand “EUROGLAS PV Flat” and perspectively our coated front glass “EUROGLAS PV Hy TCO”, as one of the most important component in thin-film photovoltaic module. About 12 months ago the first tempered safety glass line was put into operation and the continuing construction and commissioning of the TCO coating line goes on. In October 2010 the commissioning of the second processing line at the location in Haldensleben is planned. Tailor made solutions, individual treatment and also different packaging requirements - here you will find your solution. With the doubling of the production capacity we will strengthen our market position and provide our customers more certainty within the glass supply. The introduction of new technology enhances our flexibility and process security, so that we are ready for a variety of customers’ requirements prepared in the future. Get a "sweeping" impression of the brand glasses ”EUROGLAS PV Flat” and “EUROGLAS PV Hy TCO”, as a solution for your application.Where? Hall 11 Stand D21

EUROGLAS on glasstec 2010 on 28 September 2010 the glasstec – the leading fair of the glass industry – opens its doors for the specialized public in Duesseldorf for the 21st time. For the seventh time Euroglas will present itself with a fair stand to the critical and well-meaning eyes of the visitors. As experienced visitors of the glasstec, you not only know around the high value as a forum for the personal meeting and the intensive exchange with already well-known „faces “. Above all the fair offers the possibility for discussions with customers from nonEuropean countries. Of course attaching new contacts is a substantial component of the fair stay. Who visits the Euroglas fair stand in this year, as in the years before you will be welcomed warmely and advised competently, but also rewarded with a new fact. Euroglas presents the two solar glasses of the location Haldensleben in a special way. Euroglas recognized the potential of the semi-finished material market for thin film modules and acted with the start-up of the solar glass plant. Generally, the photovoltaic industry is represented on the fair very strongly. One reason more to present our products to a broad public. Beyond that the visitor on the fair stand finds a highlight again – naturally from glass. You will be surprised! The signs of this year’s glasstec are mixed. 2009 was a challenging year for everyone. The entire glass industry had to register a recession in sales from approx. 13% opposite to 2008. The number of persons employed sank against it only around approx. 2.7%. That shows that most companies know around the value of their qualified personnel and set on a recovery on the market. A further positive signal is the portion of the renovation in Germany, which constitutes over 70 % of the gross income and its meaning for the companies. The signals are positive – let’s work together on a successful year 2010. Let’s use the glasstec for an intensive exchange and as a start for a good final spurt.

If in the Middle East new buildings are planned, we can count that projects are buildings of superlatives. Two new giant projects are currently in the headlines. The emirate of Abu Dhabi is growing directly at the 'Waterfront' - a special Financial Center grows on the ground. The ADFC (Abu Dhabi Financial Center) has a gross floor area of 570,000 m2! This size strengthen that Abu Dhabi intends to play an important role as a banking center in the Middle East. The facility includes four office towers, the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange and retail businesses. Although still under construction - the spectacular object is already traded as a symbol of the new Abu Dhabi business district. From a design similar to the planned illumination of the facade also consultants and specialists are involved from all over the world. Glas Trösch also joins it. Built to be equivalent to about 40,000 m2 SILVERSTAR Sun Stop Neutral 50 T. The high-efficiency high-layer design corresponds optimal to the architecture language, which is required in view of the facade. For transparency without sacrificing also provide 11,000 m2 of our special antireflective optical interference LUXAR. (SILVERSTAR Marketing)

Also spectacular and gigantic project is the Barwa Commercial Avenue, which is built in Doha (Qatar). The eight-kilometer-long shopping mall offers unimaginable with a gross floor area of nearly 900,000 m2 of space for endless shopping malls and large office and residential units. In particular in clear, cloudless nights with small wind velocity it is possible that the front glass sheet reaches temperatures, which lie far below the air temperature. Particularly it often happens with rooflights, but also in very well insulated vertical glass elements. As is known the air humidity condenses at cold surfaces. This effect leads to the fact that at the cooled down glass surfaces dew can occur. This is not theoretical effect: with a very good roof glazing with Ug-values of < 1,0 W/m²K up to 50% of all days there can be an external fitting in the early morning hours! Bützberg (Switzerland), June 2010. With its SILVERSTAR COMBI products EUROGLAS offers architects and planners a wide range of glazing for building facades that combines high light transmittance with solar control and thermal insulation designed to meet an extensive range of climate-related requirements. The Swissbased glass specialist has now succeeded in further improving the thermal insulating properties of the product range. All COMBI insulating glass now comes with a Ug value of 1.0 W/m2K (as per EN 673), simultaneously retaining the visual effect, the so-called „street appeal“. Depending upon what coating is applied, SILVERSTAR COMBI glazing combines differing levels of solar control with maximum light transmittance and further enhanced thermal insulation. The entry product in the range is SILVERSTAR COMBI Neutral 41/21 with a very low overall energy transmittance (g value as per EN 410: 22 percent) and a correspondingly high solar control effect. This product is particularly suited for regions which experience distinctive fluctuations in temperature range, in other words hot summers and cold winters. At the other end of the product range, with a significantly higher g-value of 37 percent (as per EN 410), SILVERSTAR COMBI Neutral 70/35 provides reduced solar control, although it still absorbs almost 2/3 of the radiation energy. In conjunction with its high light transmission of 70 percent this product creates a selectivity of 1.89. The offering is rounded off by SILVERSTAR COMBI Neutral 51/26 and COMBI Neutral 61/32, with medium levels of overall energy transmittance and a simultaneously high optimum use of daylight. The COMBI Neutral 51/26 is also available in a temperable version which is identified by the additional code „T“ (= temperable). When coated, this version can also be processed as single pane toughened glass, allowing very short delivery times and providing maximum flexibility in terms of application. (SILVERSTAR Marketing)

weather situation the temperature of the glass surface remains above the ambient temperature, so that a condensation of the air humidity is no longer possible. In a practice test one was almost proven of effectiveness to 100 %. Beyond that SILVERSTAR CLEAR VISION T is characterised by a very low external reflection, the light transmission of the insulation glass is increased easily. SILVERSTAR CLEAR VISION T is a temperable coating, i.e. the coated sizes are cut and tempered by the tempered safety manufacturer. The layer is activated by the thermal treatment and receives the long-term stability for permanent anti-fitting effect.
