European Spa Gold List: PGA Catalunya Golf & Wellness Resort, Spain
Best for: Ancient and avant garde approaches
Healing techniques supported by modern therapies are at the heart of the €5m (£4.46m) wellness centre at The PGA Catalunya Resort near Girona in north-west Spain. Designed by Barcelona’s Lagula Arquitectes, treatment rooms at the new 1,000sqm centre offer a range of luxurious experiences with medical-backed modalities including cryotherapy, IV infusions, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and photobiomodulation. Traditional treatments use products from Aromatherapy Associates and Biologique Recherche products and protocols.
“Our innovative and integrated approach allows us to combine the most ancient treatments with avant garde therapies with carefully selected partners that share our philosophy and approach to wellbeing,” comments Núria Camins, Wellness Manager.
Located in 540 hectares of Mediterranean forest, PGA Catalunya has its own resident environmental biologist, Oriol Dalmau, who is dedicated to preserving and stimulating the property’s ecological environment.
