Best for: Bringing the outside in

The Coniston Hotel stands in stunning woodland on a 1,400-acre estate near Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales. Originally built in 2015, its multi-million-pound spa has been completely refurbished and re-imagined, reopening this year under the name Nàdarra, which means ‘Natural’ in Gaelic.

Experiences include an indoor swimming pool; a thermal experience with an infrared sauna, Finnish and Himalayan saunas, an aromatherapy steam room, an indoor bubble pool, an experience shower and an ice fountain; and a couple’s suite that provides a double spa bath and a mud rasul.

A 45-minute bespoke outdoor bathing treatment uses either ishga’s pure Scottish seaweed bath or a a therapeutic Suki Tea bath and takes place in the private spa garden, which offers a relaxation pod, loungers, two outdoor baths and warming fire pit.

“Connection with nature and its importance to health and wellbeing has really shaped the concept for our new spa,” director Nick Bannister told European Spa.
