Malcesine’s history surrounds its castle, which together with the Palazzo dei Capitani, has become the symbol of the town. The stunning backdrop to this resort – Monte Baldo, is a host to Hang gliders and Paragliding which fill the blue skies between the lake and the mountain. Sirmione, thanks to its unique natural position on the lake, Sirmione’s peninsula has been place of many ancient settlements, which are still to be seen even today.

THE GRAPE CURE In the Hotels Du Lac et Bellevue, Cæsius, Nettuno and Sportsman from 15/09 to 15/10 you can have the possibility to try this famous cure. At the breakfast buffet as well as at the dinner salad buffet, freshly picked grapes and fresh grape juice will be available for you. At the Hotel Caesius in Bardolino the grape-cure diet can be followed with medical assistance: a Food Science and Phyto-therapy doctor can advise about diet-amounts to favour the best re-balance of the organism.

GRAPE-CURE (ampelotherapy) Nutritional facts The grape is the fruit from the grape-vine (vitis vinifera) which belongs to the Vitacee or Ampelidacee family. It has energising qualities and is suited to all muscular and intellectual activity . The grape is easily digestible and contains gluctose and fructose which are two simple sugars that can be easily absorbed, they also contain a nearly complete range of micronutrients (vitamins, mineral-salts, organic acids and other traceelements) which together favour the metabolism of sugars, fats and proteins. The richness and the variety of its components together with its high calorie content (600 calories per kilo, the same as cow’s milk) has meant that grape-juice has been awarded the name of “vegetable milk” and it can be consumed for short periods as the only food as it is considered a complete food. Curing aspects The grape, apart from being nutritious and easily digestible, acts also as a stimulant for the digestive system and refreshens and purifies the system. Grapes contain carbons, organic-acids and colouring agents that create an anti-acid action favouring the metabolic processes of sugars, fats and proteins and tone both the nervous-system and the muscles. This fruit stimulates the liver and produces bile, it favours the detoxification of the hepatica cells and stimulates the intestine. It also stimulates the digestion of fats and aids cholesterol reduction. Also due to its diuretic principals it helps expel catabolic waste in the urine like uric acid and urea. From various studies it is revealed that tannic acid and carbolic acid contained in the grape create an anti-germ and anti-viral action and the carbolic acid alone has anti-cancerous properties. The juice also has an anti-tooth decay action. Recent research has discovered that cholesterol patches found in the arteries are formed following oxidation of the lipo-proteins LDL (those that transport the “bad” cholesterol), however the carbolic acid found in grapes has such an anti-oxidant capacity (much higher than Vitamin C or E) and also favours the coronary blood flow and thus protects the heart from damage caused by an insufficient flow of oxygen. The presence of procianidine (alos found in Ginkgo-biloba, in blackcurant, and in tea etc) explains the preventive action in the blood vessels helping to prevent thrombosis and inflammation. The grape, therefore, is a highly important food, energising, vitamin-rich, refreshing, hydrating, laxative, purifying and ultra-protective for many degenerative pathologies. Grape-cure Thanks to the richness of its nutritional values the grape also offers the possibility of a particular diet: ampelotherapy...this practise, whose name comes from the botanical vine family is both simple and

regenerating. This diet is best followed in the autumn when the grape is ripe and if possible when you can rest and relax. During this diet you just eat grapes, 2/3 purple and 1/3 green in a period that can last between 24 hours and 7 days. The quantity of grapes to be eaten is around 2-3 kilos per day, half to be eaten and half to be drunk as juice. In this period it is better not to eat other foods so that the liver can dedicate itself completely to the elimination of all waste that has been formed up until this moment. It is therefore advisable to rest in this period so that energy is not wasted and all energy is given over to the detoxifiaction process. This diet is very much in use in Bardolino on Lake Garda and also in Alto Adige where the same diet is called Traubencur and has had very spectacular positive results, so much so that in just 7 days you will have a brand new liver. One easy way of following this diet is to eat just grapes for one, two or three days and then gradually introduce other foods, firstly by adding raw and cooked fruit and vegetables, then with bread, then wholemeal pasta and rice and pulses (all with a little olive oil) and then after a day or so you can add fresh milk and cheese. After seven to ten days you can then add eggs, meat and fish. In this way you obtain the best benefits possible from the purification process found in grapes and grape-juice. Information Ampelotherapy is especially suitable for those who have a slow metabolism, for those who work very hard, for those who have to undertake hard athletic force, those who are too thin or those who are undertaking hard muscle or intellectual work. Also suitable for pregnant women, those suffering from anemia, children, convalescing patients, those suffering from constipation or rheumatism, gout or arterioschlerosis. This special and very natural diet has also been proved beneficial for the obese, for those suffering with piles, urinary tract problems, kidney-stones, acne, eczema, cronic infections, respiratory problems and hepatic poisoning. Who is it suited for The grape-cure is benificial for everyone but particulary indicated for those who have had a couple of years of very stressful life together with a bad diet and helps them find a new harmony and helps bring a better functioning of the liver, intestine, and kidneys plus it purifies the blood and makes for healthy arteries and finally, why not....good humour !

GRAPE ROUTE BY BIKE The route departs from the historical centre of Bardolino and rises up onto the panoramic road behind the town from where there are splendid views of the lake and surrounding countryside. The path continues on through the rolling hills of the morenic terrain that encircle the aforementioned countryside and where the slopes of Monte Baldo give way to a more gentle landscape characterized by the ancient cultivation of grapes and thus this route takes you through beautiful vineyards. “LA ROCCA” WALKING TRACK From the Lake one goes up to 291 meters above sea level and from the Rocca Vecchia (Old Rock) immediately deep into the typical Gardesana landscape, where the presence of mankind already thousands of years in a balanced way fits in an environment, shaped by glaciers and mellowed by a rich Mediterranean vegetation. As every year, in 2013 the “THORSTENNIS” Tennis School puts motivation, fun, being in good company, and physical activity foremost, as well as the importance of learning from the beginning correct techniques or improving one’s knowledge of tennis. Participants to the courses are subdivided into groups according to their level of playing tennis (maximum 4 persons per group). Qualified instructors, electronic tennis ball serving machines, radar calculation of ball velocity and 3-D videos for movement analysis, guarantee the best results in the shortest time. Weekly typical Italian evenings are also organized. WEEKLY COURSE -WK (7.5 training hours) € 195,00 Beginner’s course to learn the fundamental techniques of tennis (forehand, backhand, serving, knocking-up, leg positions); or else for experts who would like to improve their tennis playing techniques or learn new ones (Top Spin, Slice, Stop, etc.). For the discerning cyclist the satellite navigator is now an indispensable accessory and exclusively for Europlan all the cycle-paths in the area have been “mapped”. These cycle-paths connect the most beautiful villages of the Eastern side of Lake Garda, stretching as far as Mantova and include the city of Verona and the Garda hinterland. Everyone who has booked a holiday with Europlan could reserve a complete Cycle-Kit which contains: 1 trekking bike (body height and sex to be specyfied), bags (in the front and in the back), helmet, GPS with the appointed routes, repair-kit, road book and road maps. Going along the various routes is also a good excuse to savour the history and the culture of the areas: The Wine Tour takes you deep into the Bardolino wine-making area and at the same time leads you to where Napoleon fought his famous battle of Rivoli in 1799. The Verona Tour leaves from Bardolino’s bus-station and takes you to the heart of the city of Verona via Bussolengo. You can come back the same way or you can take the bus. For nature-lovers there is the Monte-Baldo tour, after a transfer that leaves you at a height of 1,342 metres in the village of Novezza the itinerary takes you slowly back down to the lake along pathways completely immersed in woods and beautiful country-side. A completely different route is offered with the Boat Tour with a boat transfer from Bardolino to Sirmione and then back again by bike alongside the lake. For the more experienced cyclist there is the Mincio Tour following cycle-paths from Bardolino all the way to Valeggio sul Mincio where a compulsory visit must be made to the stunning medieval village of Borghetto, the homeward part of the route takes you along 64km of wonderful flat paths in the Mincio Natural Park back to Peschiera del Garda. So, itineraries to suit all levels and tastes and the opportunity to rent bikes too!

This is the longest cycle-tour: a total of 64 k departing from Bardolino and cycling over the gentle hills that surround San Giorgio in Salici and arriving in Valeggio Sul Mincio, a famous historical renaissance town. Leaving Valeggio the cycle-path leads down to the River Mincio where you find Borghetto, another “pearl” of this area ( a medieval village) and following the river we return to Peschiera del Garda. The last part of the cycle-ride takes you along gravel paths next to the lake and some internal minor roads.

This is the shortest cycle route. This tour leads from the bus-station and takes you to Tre Contrè from where you head in a southerly direction to the gentle hills of Pastrengo, a village made famous during the First War of Independence for its mounted police force . From Pastrengo we go towards Sandrà, Salionze and Cavalcaselle and then make our way back to Bardolino using minor roads and cycle-paths.

A transfer takes you up to a height of 1,342 metres to the village of Novezza from where we cycle down the main road until we reach the road that takes us up to the Malga Ime, from here we follow cyclepaths through woods and beautiful country-side until we reach Braga, Vilmezzano, Pazzon and Porcino. We return to Bardolino along the hills that divide the Adige Valley and the Albarè Plain. This tour is especially suited for nature lovers

Leaving from the bus-station we travel along country roads taking us over the hills of Bardolino and Calmasino to reach Piovezzano. A gravel cyclepath then takes us all the way to Bussolengo alongside the Biffis Canal, from Bussolengo we follow a minor road to the centre of Verona. There are two alternative means for the journey home: for the more experienced cyclist the same route can be taken or the journey back to Bardolino can be made by the local bus.

This quite tricky route winds its way south-east along the plain that links Affi, Cavaion and Colà. For the whole way this route takes you through vineyards that produce the grape that makes the Bardolino wine. The tour leaves from the bus-station and winds its way up through the back streets to Vallesana, following on we travel along gravel paths to reach the gentle hills of Colà, a small village which is famous for its Thermal Baths. From Colà the route turns towards Calmasino and then Cavaion and finally Affi. At Affi we join the new cycle path that takes us to the surrounding hills and after a brief downhill run we come to Rivoli, a village made famous by Napoleon and the Battle of Rivoli in 1799 which was followed by a period of Austrian domination. From Rivoli a gravel path takes us again through vineyards but this time the wine produced here is a high-quality sparkling Spumante wine and this path takes us back to Affi to an area locally known as Moscal where Nato had a radar positioned for many years. After passing the church of San Fermo we go back to Bardolino along the “la Rocca” path. Ruins of the Austrian Customs-House

Boat Tour

This tour is characterised by a trip on the steamer boat from Bardolino to Sirmione. The tour then starts from outside the castle walls and the cycle-path follows the lake for the most part and then the A road (Strada Statale 11) to the Hotel Dogana, from there we follow country roads until we reach the cycle path of the Mincio park passing through the villages of Camalavicina, Lazise and finally, Bardolino.

At the center of the “Riviera degli olivi” (Olive Riviera), in a lovely gulf, Bardolino is one of the most enchanting places on the lake. It is famous world wide for the production of the “Bardolino” wine, a young, fresh and inviting wine, ruby red or claret in colour, excellent as a table wine. The “Bardolino” Wine Association has prepared a suggested route, properly marked out, through the villages and localities of production. It is a journey not only admist luxuriant vineyards and old farms in which winemaking is carried out using traditional methods, but also through the history and art, villas of the past centuries, romanesque churches and castles.

Garda (from Warda = guard, lookout, place of observation post, survillance etc.) is positioned at the centre of an large gulf, between “La Rocca” and “Punta S. Vigilio”. BRENZONE

The country of Brenzone covers an area of 50 square meters. The area includes the towns of Castello, Castelletto, Marniga, Magugnago, Porto and Assenza plus other smaller villages that are closer to the mountainside. The town has not grown much in size and has preserved many characteristics of the past...many quaint fishermenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s villages clustered around a port and many rustic rural hamlets in the hills. The small island of Trimelone, which up until a few years ago was used as a military depot, sits near the shore in front of Assenza. As tourism is its main industry, the lakeside is lined by many hotels, residences and camping sites. Numerous restaurants offer local dishes and specialties from the area (fish, olive oil, wine, etc.). Many are the different kind of sports: sailing, windsurf, waterski, diving, paragliding, mountain bike, trekking.

Children Free

From 08.06 to 12.07 children go on holiday free. In our hotels children up to 11 years old staying in the same room with the parents are free of charge, having the same board as the parents. For children in a separate room there is a 50% discount. The booking must be made before the 30.04 (this offer is not valid for Hotel Eden, Sole, Aqualux).

Single room with no supplement

In the Hotels Du Lac et Bellevue, Caesius, Sportsman, Nettuno, Du Parc, La Perla, there is no supplement for the single room or the double room used by one person (from 13.04 to 03.05 and from 06.10 to 28.10).

Fairs

During fairs prices from the following seasons will be applied to our hotels: D) for Caesius Thermae, Sole and Eden. F) for Du Lac et Bellevue, Sportsman, Nettuno, La Perla and Du Parc

Payment by credit card proposes a new system of payment, for deposits and final settlements, which will save time and effort as well as bank and postal charges. At the moment of booking you can use your credit card to confirm. You just tell us the type of card, the number and the date of expiry and you can be sure that the booking has been accepted: we shall do the rest. When the payments are due, we shall debit you with the outstanding amount, without any further charges.

General Information

Hotels Prices/Rates: the rates shown in the price lists are in Euro per person, per day, in double rooms, based on services indicated and are valid for a minimum stay of three days. Beverages, tips and extras in general are not included in these prices. Prices are subject to change without notice. Board: in the price list the board is indicated as follows: BB= bed and breakfast, HB = half board. Children: we make special conditions for children sleeping in the parents bedroom: - up to the age of 5 years free. - from the age of 6 to 13 60% discount (except for Hotel Cæsius 50%). For the hotels Sole and La Perla allowed 1 child max age 11 years. Cots and high chairs are available free of charge. In certain periods the 50% discount is applicable for children 6-13 years even sleeping in a separate room. 3rd and 4th person: 3rd and 4th person sleeping in a double room, from the age of 14 onwards, are entitled to a discount of 30% (40% in Family Suite at the Hotel Caesius). Discount not applicable at the Hotel La Perla and Hotel Sole. Garage: garages cannot be booked and will be given on a first come first served basis. The price is € 7,00 per day per car, except for the hotels Caesius, Aqualux and La Perla, where the garage is included in the room rate.

Domestic pets: Domestic pets are not allowed. Beginning and end of the stay: rooms on the day of the arrival can be occupied after 3 pm and on the day of the departure must be vacated by 11 am. Arrivals and departures are daily. Special offers: Special offers are marked on the price list with the symbol . Payments: all reservations are definitively confirmed upon receipt of an account of 20% of the full amount, which must be received 3 weeks before the date of arrival, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled without further notice. Cancellation conditions: those who have to cancel their stay will have the right to a reimbursement of the deposit with the following deductions: - no cancellation fees until 7 days before beginning of the stay -100% of the deposit for cancellations from 6 to 0 days before beginning of the stay Guarantee reimbursement: The insurance guarantees reimbursement (- € 30,00 for booking expenses) in case of illness, injury or death to the insured or to a family member upon certification by a doctor registered in the Medical Association. The insurance is valid up to 24 hours before arrival.

Residence Prices: rates are published in Euros per apartment and include accomodation in the apartments with their relative services, furniture and essential accessories for a brief holiday stay. Prices do not include utilities, cot hire, high-chairs, linens (bed and bath), cleaning services, linen change not mentioned, final cleaning and everything that is not expressly indicated as included and free in the price lists of the catalog. Extra costs: weekly rates for the consumption of gas, electricity and water. In some residences these rates are included in the price, in others they are paid directly on the spot, a forfeit, fixed rates indicated on the price list or per consumption with a final reading of the relative meters. Refundable security deposit: a security deposit is required upon arrival, which will be refunded upon departure if there have been no damages. Amount of the deposit is indicated in the price lists of the catalog. Apartments: apartments are divided in various types: ST = one-room apartment, A = 2-room apartment, B = 3-room apartment, C = 4-room apartment, MH = mobile home. The number written after this codes indicates the maximum number of person, (eg.: A4 2-room apartment for maximum 4 people). The initials after the number mean: SB = without balcony, M = mansard, FL = lake front, Sup. = superior. Parking: if indicated in the descriptive text, parking is upon a first come first serve basis and spaces cannot be reserved. Garage: should there be a cost, this will be specified and is to be paid directly. Domestic pets: small pets allowed only if specified in the price lists of the catalog with their respective costs. In all other cases they are not allowed. In any case pets will not be allowed in common areas.

Arrival and departure: arrival time between 4 and 7 pm, the departure takes place before 10 am. Arrivals outside the stated hours are requested to contact the residence directly. Visits: visits of relatives or acquaintances has to be authorized by the Direction. Special offers: some residences make special offers (7=5 stay of 7 days, paying only for 5), the type and date of these offers can be found in the price lists. All extra costs must be paid in full. Special offers are marked on the price list with the symbol . Payments: all reservations are definitively confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of 25% of the full amount, within 3 weeks. If we do not receive the deposit within the requested period we will cancel the booking without any notice. The balance has to be paid at arrival in the residence. Exceptions are marked in the price lists, for those residences the balance has to be paid by 2 weeks before arrival date. Cancellation conditions: those who have to cancel their stay will have the right to a reimbursement of the deposit with the following deductions: - no cancellation fees until 14 days before beginning of the stay -100% of the deposit for cancellations from 13 to 0 days before beginning of the stay Stays that are interrupted after check-in will not be refunded. Guarantee reimbursement: the insurance guarantees reimbursement (minus € 30,00 for booking expenses) in case of illness, injury or death to the insured or to a family member upon certification by a doctor registered in the Medical Association. The insurance is valid up to 48 hours before arrival.
