Foreign tourists boost Benidorm hotel occupancy IN the first two weeks of June, the average hotel occupancy rate in Benidorm reached 87.9 per cent. This is 0.7 per cent more than the same period last year, according to hospitality association Hosbec. The increase is thanks to foreign tourists. The British market has increased by 6 per cent since last year to 230,134 overnight stays. More Dutch and Belgian tourists have been visiting Benidorm with 13,692 and 29,012 overnight stays and a 2.6 per cent and 3.8 per cent increase from the first two weeks of June 2011 respectively.

Medieval Market in La Nucia
LA NUCIA’S eighth Medieval Market is just around the corner. From next Friday (July 6) until Sunday the old town centre, in front of the town hall, will have 60 craft-makers selling ceramics,
leather bags, belts and shoes, glass, designer jewellery, soap and perfumes as well as a large assorted food section. There will also be music, street theatre, and face painting.
