€6m project set to boost Palma’s trade PALMA City Council officials have announced the creation of a new €6 million project which aims to turn Mallorca’s capital into a year-round hub for all kinds of travellers. Another proposal within the plan is to super-charge

commerce by keeping shops open on Sundays all year round, taking advantage of short-term tourists coming over for city breaks as well as cruise-ship passengers. The council recognises that tourism is the

preferred path towards job creation and economic revitalisation. The project entitled ‘Palma de Mallorca Tourism Foundation 365’ was presented at the recent FITUR tourism fair in Madrid.
