Coronation Party in the park
NEARLY 300 U3A MorairaTeulada members and guests celebrated King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation with a party in the Font Santa.
The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a celebration. Volunteers set up picnic tables, bunting and flags, and guests played their part with a colourful display of red, white and blue attire, hats, crowns and, of course, many coronets!
Members brought their own drinks and nibbles and were then treated to a hog roast lunch and music by the everpopular Duo Intermezzo. Black Glitter followed and closed the day with their amazing buzz of 60s, 70s and 80s music with U3A members crowding the dance area.
Quite a few members had their photos taken with Charles and Camilla (cardboard cutout versions their Majesties were unable to take a break from their busy schedule to join them in Spain!).
Many thanks to Tony Old, the Social Events Organiser, and his team of helpers for making the day so successful. It was a fabulous celebration and a wonderful day which will be remembered by all. For further information visit www.u3amorairateulada.org and ‘U3A MorairaTeulada’ on Facebook.
