Quality stamp for Benidorm businesses

UP to 10 new companies in Benidorm are eligible to obtain a national tourism quality certificate this year.

The SICTED distinction stands for Integral Tourism Quality in Destinations System and is awarded by the Secretary of State for Tourism, with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which works with tourist services in 36 different sectors with the aim of improving the experience and satisfaction of visitors.

Since Benidorm joined the project in 2013 there are 69 local companies with the distinction.

Of the 36 trades covered by SICTED, 17 are represented in Benidorm, headed in number of companies by hotels and tourist apartments. This year two new trades have been incorporated, namely ‘golf and Pitch & Putt courses’ and ‘museums and visitable tourist attractions’.

The benefits of achieving the distinction include the improvement of internal management especially in processes related to customer satisfaction increasing the qualification of the team through a training plan, participating in the largest tourism quality project developed in Spain together with more than 9,000 establishments, and receiving technical assistance that offers support for improvement.
