Two ultimate destinations for meat lovers where the cosy atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience, Hereford Meat on Fire combines the Danish concept of Hygge living with incredible food, cosy inviting spaces, and mouthwatering drinks.
How did Hereford Meat on Fire begin?
It all started in the winter of 2006 when Danish national Jesper Vad Holm, founder and owner of Hereford Meat on Fire, decided to follow his passion for highquality meat and wine by jumping into the production of beef. For 17 years, Jesper had a large organic farm producing beef and crops for the high end and demanding breakfast market, as well as a butcher’s and a restaurant in Riga, the capital of Latvia.
In early summer 2022, a new project was launched in Costa Blanca North a restau rant for meat lovers. Jesper opened Hereford Meat on Fire in Albir, with a passion and vision to offer the best meat grilled on charcoal and served by attentive, friendly, and educated staff.

The Euro Weekly News asked Jesper about the concept of Hereford Meat on Fire, he told us: “We truly believe that food is much more than just food. Food must be cooked with love and transferred with positive energy from the kitchen to the table. The food in our restaurants must be an experience and create moments to remember with family and friends, all in a nice and cosy environment.”

Their Albir location is a cosy family restaurant with various seating areas. Experience a more private dining experience inside the restaurant, soak up the Mediterranean sun on their lovely open terrace, or enjoy a cosy and intimate dining experience in their comfortable lounge area.
At the Altea location on the sea promenade, Hereford Meat on Fire offers their many guests and diners the best view from the terrace, an intimate and private section for two to eight people, and tables in the restaurant located in a stunning and authentic 140yearold building.

Offering the best grilled meat in Altea and Albir, Hereford Meat on Fire brings you juicy Argentinian steak, grilled burgers with all the toppings, classic chateaubriand, ribs smothered in BBQ sauce, flaky fish, and succulent chicken grilled on an olive wood fire. Everything is freshly prepared to perfection and grilled to your liking, bringing you dishes that are bursting with flavour and made with love and care. With a carefully planned menu, enjoy starters such as classic Ceasar salad and potato rosti with smoked salmon, or refreshing gazpacho and grilled peppers with tuna. For those with a sweet tooth, Hereford Meat on Fire offers ovenbaked cheesecake, peach melba with a twist, and seasonal fresh fruit with ice cream to cool you down on those hot Spanish days. The friendly and attentive staff are always on hand to ensure that your every need is met, while the extensive wine selection and delicious cocktails perfectly complement your meal.
