Goal-ourious centenary
ELCHE Football Club fans poured into the streets on Sunday, May 14 as part of the club’s centenary celebrations. The city’s Paseo de la Estación was flooded in a sea of green and white as fans celebrated 100 years of their beloved team.
The all day celebrations included social activities and a green and white firework display for supporters to enjoy while tucking into plates of a local rice dish. The fun day was held alongside a match the team played against Atlético Madrid and from which they emerged victorious, winning 10.
Elche fans celebrated their club’s vibrant history alongside supporters from Atlético Madrid who joined them in a harmonious atmosphere in a fan zone, complete with fun footballrelated activities.
Organised by club’s the Federation of Supporters, the event was graced by the mayor of Elche, Carlos González, as well as members of the council. González expressed his pride in the club saying they have a “bright future”.
Important figures in the club’s management including the president of the Federation of Supporters, David Aranda, the club owner, Christian Bragarnik, and the president, Joaquín Buitrago, also attended the party.
