by the Institute of Almeria Studies you will be able to know the reasons that assisted our ancestors to create the provincial map. You will discover, the controversy over the capital status between Baza and Almeria, the main protagonists of that administrative design.

The exhibition shows the transcendental change that meant going from an absolutist administration of ancient kingdoms and diversity of jurisdictions to a liberal, constitutional, rational and balanced model, the difficulties and setbacks they had to overcome; also, of course, the suspension of the provincial organisation in 1823 as a consequence of the reintroduction of the absolutist monarchy of Fernando VII, and, after a decade of lapses, the definitive creation in 1833.
