The city of Elche is one of the few cities with three properties inscribed in the different categories of UNESCO World Heritage: the Palm Grove, the Misteri d’Elx and the Puçol School Museum, to which must be added its beaches, natural spaces, culture, gastronomy and festivals.

The city has 26,829 places distributed among 6,309 flats, a number of accommodation places in tourist flats that has increased by 16.9 per cent in the last year according to data from Turisme Comunitat Valenciana of the Generalitat.

The offer of this type of accommodation available in Torrevieja is only surpassed by Benidorm and Xabia.

Most of the places are in the standard category

25,653, while 673 are in the first category and 503 are in the superior category. In one year the city has climbed from seventh to third place and in two years it has added 5,327 new beds and 924 flats to the register so that it has overtaken the capital of the Community.

The city of Valencia has also suffered a setback after several years of strong growth. Overall, the supply of tourist flats and dwellings in the Valencian Community on December 31 already exceeded 450,000 bed places, with a year­on­year increase of 4 per cent.
