A STRETCH of road with two DGT traffic radars located in the province of Alicante totalled 35,828 fines for speeding offences in 2022.

This amounts to 98.1 penalties per day or four per hour, with one fine every 15 minutes.

The data is provided by the association Automovilistas

Europeos Asociados which has drawn up a top 100 list of the controls which registered the most speeding offences in Spain last year.

In total, the province of Alicante has two, both on the same stretch: the first at kilometre 4.3 of the A70, with 20,624 penalties, and the second at kilometre 4.6, with 15,204.

THE female youth team of the Torrevieja Tennis Club has clinched the third spot in the First Division Championship of the Valencian community.

After defeating Alicante Tennis Club by three games to none in the quarterfinals and losing to number one seed Valencia Tenniscenter 2 ­ 0 in the semifinal, they finally defeated CA Montemar de Alicante 22 in the third ­ place match bagging one in the super tiebreak of the deciding double.
