THE rooftop terrace at Fuengirola Town Hall will once again come alive with the soulful melodies of jazz as the town’s highly anticipated ‘Summer Nights of Jazz’ concert series returns this June.

The series will continue with performances by Milton Rodríguez Quartet on Thursday, June 29 and Dúo Fusión on Thursday, July 6. To cap off the series, the Wilkinson­GómezAlazubhev Trio will perform at the Plaza de España on Thursday, July 20, from 9:30pm.

Performances begin at 9pm, and free tickets can be collected at the Casa de la Cultura one week before each concert.

Community spirit

IN a heartwarming display of community support, the Campo de Gibraltar Craftsmen Association, also known as the San José Association has once again stepped up with generous donations to local organisations. The mayor of Manilva Mario Jiménez, along with the local councillor for Business, Francisco Becerra, and the councillor for Sports, Manolo Gil, received the group in a reception alongside the association’s president, Antonio Rodríguez.

During the reception, representatives from local groups including Los Kruos Walking Club, the local cycling club, Manilva FS, and the Luisana Association received muchneeded funds from the San José Association. These grants will fuel the groups’ many community­orientated activities. The mayor thanked the group, highlighting the profound impact the flea market is having on the economy.

KOMODO dragon hatchlings at Bioparc Fuengirola are set to make their debut in outdoor terrariums, in response to a massive popular demand.

On Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, a select few of these tiny dragons will be housed in a temporary outdoor enclosure, allowing visitors to see the unique creatures up­close.

This year, Bioparc Fuengirola celebrated a significant milestone in their conservation efforts with the successful hatching of five Komodo dragon babies. This marked the first successful breeding of the species within the park. Visitors will be able to observe these young dragons in the park’s Indo­Pacific area, alongside the male Komodo dragon, Reo. Staff will also offer insights into the breeding, behaviour, and conservation work dedicated to the species.

MARBELLA Netball Club’s event of the year is set to return on Saturday, June 3.

This highly anticipated tournament is set to feature nine teams and more than 100 talented women, promising an action­packed day of netball fun.

The tournament will get underway from 9.30am on the day at Laude International School in San Pedro. Nine teams from across the country and Gibraltar will hit the court: Marbella Netball Club, Costanets, Fetcham (A & B), Manilva,
