Unwavering support
To document her experience, Julia started a blog called ‘Whipple Warrior Walking’, which has resonated with thousands. Her blog has received nearly 12,500 views in just a few months, touching many hearts. Writing became an outlet for Julia, helping in her recovery and mental wellbeing.
Throughout these challenges, Julia found strength and support within the tight knit Benalmadena community she calls home. Her friends became an unwavering support group, and even strangers have shown her kindness.
With the success of her blog and its positive impact, Julia has ambitious plans for the future. She wants to reach as many people as possible through the blog and is even considering creating a support group for English speaking people with similar chronic illnesses.

THE Smith Magenis Association in Mijas held a gala on Friday, June 16 to fund research into this rare syndrome. A charity dinner, music, and raffles brought people together to support sufferers and their families. They raised €2,300.

ARTIST Irene Mala has launched a mesmerising exhibition based on Director Tim Burton’s work in Benalmadena. The exhibition takes viewers on a journey into Burton’s magical realm with 60 artworks inspired by films including Planet of the Apes.
