THE European Soul King himself, Seal, is preparing to take Marbella by storm on Friday, July 7.

The British singer and songwriter will perform a show in the city’s Starlite Occident as part of his 30th anniversary tour, com memorating the release of his ground breaking albums, Seal I and Seal II. The performance will also be part of the Starlite Festival, featuring huge names such as Yusuf / Cat Stevens.

Seal is expected to play hits includ ing the chart­topping ‘Fly like an ea gle’, and ‘Kiss from a rose’ during the evening.

Having sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and re ceived billion streams, Seal’s impressive achievements include four Grammy Awards, three BRIT Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards, and an MTV VMA.

He has also collaborat ed with other globally renowned performers including Santana,

P!nk, and John Legend.

MARBELLA’S ‘21st Encuentro de Música Coral’ Choir Showcase is set to return this weekend, dazzling the audience with an evening of beautiful melodies. The choir show is set to take place on Saturday, June 24.

This year’s edition also marks the 30th anniversary of one of the participating choirs, the Coral Polifónica Ciudad de Marbella. The city will also welcome the Agrupación Coral de Don Benito from Don Benito, Badajoz, and the Coral Lucentina from Lucena, Córdoba as special guest choirs.

A FABULOUS adaptation of the musical sensation, Les Misérables, is set to arrive in Marbella this weekend. The performance entitled ‘Los Miserables: The Revolution' will hit the stage at the Teatro La Alcoholera on Sunday, June 25.

Students from AulaFIC will perform the adaptation of Victor Hugo’s timeless masterpiece, ‘Les Misérables’ from 6pm on Sunday. The musical theatre students will bring this beloved story to life, includ­ languages and cultures. The show also aims to be engaging for the audience, with plenty of recognisable tunes being performed.

This year’s concert also pays homage to the late Nino Bravo, on the 50th anniversary of his passing.

The Choir Showcase is not only an opportunity for the choirs’ talent to shine through, but is also the first event of the summer season at the José Pernía Calderón Auditorium in Parque de la Constitución.
