MUSIC fans prepare to be swept away on a global musical journey in Estepona! The Cologne Chamber Orchestra is bringing a classical music extravaganza to the Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI on Thursday, July 13 at 9pm.
From the remote Australian villages to the Norwegian fjords and the bustling metropolis of Berlin, the orchestra has made it their mission to spread the beauty of classical music far and wide. Their Estepona performance is one of 200 international dates and 150 concert dates within Germany for the orchestra.
Founded in 2003 in Cologne, renowned for its conservatory and illustrious music professors, the orchestra scours master classes given by the country’s top classical musicians to handpick their musicians.
Their Estepona performance is set to feature stirring melodies by musical geniuses including Wolfgang Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi. Musical talents from the orchestra have curated a fascinating programme that blends beloved classics with lesserknown treasures by composers including Sergei Prokofiev and Astor Piazzolla.
As well as taking the audience on a global journey, traversing different musical genres, the music selected also comes from distinct periods of history.

Soulful summer night
MIJAS’ popular Blues Night is making a grand return this summer, promising a sensational evening for all music lovers. On Saturday, July 29, the openair auditorium in Mijas Pueblo will come alive with the soulful sounds of the blues, with a concert starting at 9pm.
The festival boasts free entrance until full capacity, making it a mustattend event for blues enthusiasts. Attendees will be treated to performances by notable blues musicians from the region. The lineup includes the Vicky King Band, the solo venture from the lead vocalist from renowned Malaga band, Mama Kin. Also taking the stage is the dynamic duo of Will Jacobs & Marcos Coll Band. Will Jacobs, recognised as one of the brightest stars of the new generation of Chicago blues, will showcase his virtuosity on the guitar. Together with Marcos Coll, an accomplished harmonica player, their musical project has taken them across Europe, entrancing audiences with their contemporary Chicago blues sound.
Adding to the lineup is Richard Ray Farrell, an American blues guitarist, singer, and harmonica player with an international following. With his soulful voice and impressive musical skills, Farrell is sure to delight the audience.
