Hitting the brakes

STARTING from Saturday, July 1, several special traffic measures are coming into force in Mijas Pueblo and La Cala de Mijas for the busy summer season and to accommodate increased visitor numbers.

In Mijas Pueblo, Calle Malaga will be closed to traffic from 6pm until 12am during the summer. The pedestrianisation initiative aims to allow visitors and locals to explore more of the town without facing traffic.

Likewise, La Cala de Mijas is introducing traffic measures to ensure pedestrian safety and comfort. In particular, Calle Marbella will have a restricted number of vehicles permitted, and Local Police will enforce this regulation. These measures will be implemented during times of increased pedestrian activity in the town.
