THE mayor of Benalmadena headed to the coastal town of Islantilla on Wednesday, June 21 to collect the town’s Blue Flags, marking a momentous achievement for the picturesque municipality.
The town mayor, Juan Antonio Lara headed to the conference where Benalmadena’s Fuente de la Salud and Torrebermeja beaches were set to receive their flags.
Islantilla, located in the province of Huelva, served as the perfect backdrop for the ceremonious occasion. It was here that the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), in partnership with the Association for Environmental Education and Consumer Affairs (ADEAC), awarded the international awards.
A total of 148 Blue Flags were handed out to mayors from towns across Andalucia at the ceremony.
