MARBELLA has soared to unprecedented heights in employment figures, setting new records in the month of May according to figures released on Thursday, June 22.
THE Cesare Scariolo Foundation hosted a glittering charity gala at Club Med Magna Marbella on Sunday, June 25.

The starstudded event, which brought together more than 190 notable guests from the sports world and Marbella’s elite, radiated with generosity and positivity.
Celebrity guests including Isabel Cintado, Manuel Cardeña, Zelko Obradovic, and Goran Sasic, joined Sergio Scariolo and Blanca Ares in celebrating the Foundation’s 15th anniversary at the event.
The evening was filled with surprises, including a charity sports raffle with signed jerseys from renowned athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo, Pau Gasol, Fernando Alonso, and Rafa Nadal as prizes.
Another highlight of the night was a mesmerising performance by Wennare Art Productions, featuring classical ballet pieces and a stunning Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quijote.

All proceeds from the charity gala will benefit the ‘I am ready’ project, supporting child cancer patients during their stays on transplant wards. The Cesare Scariolo Foundation is collaborating with Nixi for Children and the Ricky Rubio Foundation, to provide virtual reality tours of hospital settings with an animated character to ease them into their journey.
A staggering increase of nearly 79,000 people to the Social Security system and a surge of over 14,000 selfemployed individuals provided a muchneeded boost to the city’s economy.
Cristóbal Garre, the councillor for Employment, announced the remarkable figures which he praised saying, “These astounding numbers are a testament to Marbella’s ability to generate wealth and employment, even in the face of a challenging national economic climate.”
He added that the city is on the cusp of its high tourism season, a period which always leads to a surge in employment opportunities. Garre added his confidence in tourism forecasts for the city.
Garre also highlighted the allure of Marbella for investors, saying, “With the creation of 2,000 new companies and increase of more than 1,600 selfemployed people since the beginning of the pandemic, Marbella evidently has a magnetic appeal.”
