Football merge
COSTA DEL SOL’S CD Sportcab and Costa Unida CF have decided to join forces for the benefit of children and the development of grassroots football in the community.
This historic alliance between CD Sportcab and Costa Unida CF marks an important milestone in the local football scene. Both clubs are recognised for their commitment to excellence and player development, and they have decided to combine our resources, experience and knowledge to create a joint grassroots development programme.
Within the Federated and Local Leagues, both male and female, it will be called CD Sportcab and they will have the entire team structure from the fouryearold base to Juvenile.
The Senior team will continue to be managed by Costa Unida CF.
ARROYO DE LA MIEL’S traditional festival burst into life on Friday, June 24 with an extraordinary display of community spirit from both local residents and visitors who arrived from far and wide.
The festival is traditionally celebrated in honour of John the Baptist, so the celebrations began in a similar way to many San Juan celebrations across the Costa del Sol.
The mayor of Benalmadena, Juan Antonio Lara, along with the councillor for Events, Yolanda Peña, kicked off the celebrations by taking a tour of the town’s ‘Júas’ traditional bonfire effigies.
Next, a grand lighting ceremony took place in Plaza de Autonomia, sparking an electric at mosphere. The mayor and councillors were joined on stage by the fair’s Queens and Knights.
As the sky erupted with a breathtaking fireworks display, the crowd revelled in a symphony of colour, music, and light projections.
This year’s celebrations have been extended until Friday, June 30, by popular demand.
