€1m sports car stolen

The owner of the GT1 Sbarro reported that he left his sports car in a workshop in Murcia to carry out a series of repairs. Once these were completed, and due to the good relationship he had with the owner of the garage, they agreed the car would be stored there for a short period.
According to the complainant, two thieves took advantage of the fact that he was undergoing surgery and went to the establishment where the vehicle was located. One man, carrying what was later discovered as fake vehicle documentation, identified himself as the owner of the car, threatening the owner if they did not
The first investigations carried out made it possible to verify that two criminal cases of theft and documentary falsification in the transfer procedures due to change of ownership were involved.

A search for the car ensued, which led investigators to its location, a garage on an urbanisation.
In total, three people were arrested, one for forging documents, and the other two for the theft of the car, which is made by Swiss highperformance replica and sports car company, Sbarro.

All three were charged and released.
Palm falls
A PALM tree in the district of Algoda in Elche has fallen, leaving a void in the hearts of the local inhabitants. This specimen, located on private property and leaning against the fence bordering the road was known for its distinctive pipe shape and was known as the Berenguer snake.
Fugitive vaught
A HIGHLY dangerous Belgian fugitive was caught and arrested in Alicante on Saturday. He was wanted for many crimes including murder and armed robbery. He was subject to a European Arrest Warrant for Extradition (OEDE) from Belgium.
Wildcat woes
A REINTRODUCED Lynx is being treated for malnutrition after being found in a poor condition in Lorca. It was one of eight released into the wild in a repopulation programme. The lynx, Tejo, had lost 20 per cent of her body weight only three months after being released.
Slippery catch
A MURCIA resident had a scare this week when an ‘impressively large’ snake slithered into his house. Brave police officers managed to capture the native snake, which can grow up to 2.5 metres long, and carefully released it in the countryside.
Bus bonus
AN extra bus service has been added from Alicante airport to the city centre. Throughout July and August the extra service on the C6 line will mean buses will run every 20 minutes at peak times. The service is 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Terrifying wind
SIXTEEN trees were uprooted in the grounds of a sports centre during a thermal burst, which occurred in Villena, Alicante, last week. The town registered strong gusts of wind that reached 102 kilometres per hour.
