Plastic fantastic

ELCHE has launched a campaign to reduce the use of plastics during the celebration of the August festivities. Through this initiative, 30,000 reusable cups will be distributed which will be available at different stalls dotted around the fiesta areas.

“With this campaign, we are committed to recycling, reducing the use of plastic and the commitment to other more durable containers," explained the mayor of public services, Claudio Guilabert.

The manager of the cleaning contracted company for Elche, Alberto Bleda, said the initiative was "fundamental to reduce the use of plastics and more in a time like that of parties". In addition, he asked the public for "the greatest collaboration during fiestas, so that they use the containers and bins in order to keep Elche very clean".
