Humanitarian aid
Anna Ellis
THE Fuengirola Local Police have carried out an average of eight humanitarian aid actions per day so far this summer.
Since the police force started the special summer measures on June 15, up until August 9, 360 actions have been carried out.
Most of these actions that occurred outside focused mainly on attending to drunken people, disoriented people and the homeless.
The most common ones attended to in private homes were: the care of elderly people who fell inside the building or domestic accidents, the care of people locked in lifts, in the same house or in one of its rooms, as well as assistance for suicide attempts.
Local Police receive telephone alerts in their Communications Room and the police patrols closest to the scene are alerted.
It is these police officers who locate the exact spot or the home and intervene to help the person get up or notify the medical services.
In the last few months, 330 actions were alerted to the police by telephone on 112, 092 or (+34) 952 580 900.
The other 30 were alerted and attended directly by police on patrol.
