FESTIVALS, music, dance, classic cars, beaches, water parks and much more is on offer in Torrevieja this weekend. With the temperatures climbing into the 30s, the Mediterranean Sea is warming up nicely and it’s perfect weather to enjoy a day at the beach or at the Aquopolis Water Park, who opened their doors last week. The music starts with the Rascals who are performing at Torrevieja’s Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre today (Thursday) and tomorrow. All ticket sales go to Alzheimer’s AFA Torrevieja, Both shows start at 7.30pm.

Club Torrevieja Classics and Specialists Cars will have a display of models. Artists performing include the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, Caution - a brother and sister vocals duo - Paul Allen playing a bit of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Zumba Ladies giving a demonstration, Emily & Marten, international vocalist Celina Dean, a Frank Sinatra Tribute, Airies del Sur from Cadiz, vocalist Mike Lovage, traditional Irish Band Bardoi, Aguas Latinas Dance troop, Casa De Andaluzia Flamenco Show and, at about 8pm, The Rockets. If it’s fun and variety you are after tomorrow (Friday) then head on down to Alfie’s Dock at the northern end of La Mata, where Sunshine radio are celebrating their 10th anniversary. The celebrations take place on the seafront at La Mata, commencing at noon and continuing throughout the afternoon and evening until around 10pm. There will be live music, dancing, games, competitions, prize draw (with lots of prizes), bouncy castle and even ‘head shaving’!
