Dr. Jamal Bryant, Attorney Benjamin Crump and others coming to Flint for Environmental Justice Rally at First Trinity M.B. Church FLINT, MI – Dr. Jamal Bryant, Pastor of Empowerment Temple AME Church of Baltimore, Maryland is coming to Flint, Michigan to join in the call for justice in city’s ongoing water crisis. Dr. Bryant, will be joined by National Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump. Attorney Crump is also the President of the National Bar Association. Dr. Bryant and Atty. Crump will join other clergy and activists for an Environmental Justice Rally for Flint, Monday, February 1, 2016 at Noon at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Beach Street. Rev. Ezra Tillman, pastor of First Trinity M.B. Church is honored to host Dr. Bryant. “He is a great man of God and an emerging voice for justice and civil rights in this country. A great environmental injustice has been done against the entire city of Flint and we are pleased that Dr. Bryant is adding his voice to the calls for justice in this water crisis.” Time magazine has identified Dr. Bryant as one of the key figures of this hour to move the generation forward. He is credited with helping bring calm to the city of Baltimore following days of protests in response to the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody. Members of the clergy from across America are expected to meet Dr. Bryant in Flint to join in his call for justice and to deliver tens of thousands of bottles of water to the city. The water donations are in response to the current water emergency in Flint. Residents lack access to safe, clean drinking water because of severe contamination in the water source. The water being donated for the Environmental Justice Rally will be distributed among six churches: First Trinity M.B. Church, 1226 Beach Street; Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ 6031 DuPont Street, Christopher Martin, Pastor; Quinn Chapel AME Church 2101 Lippincott Blvd, Rev. Gerald Cardwell, Pastor; United Outreach Ministries 1429 Roosevelt Ave., LeMarcus Keels, Pastor; and Kingdom of Heaven Ministries 2430 Dutcher Road, Dr. Lonnie Brown, Pastor. The first delivery trucks are expected to arrive at First Trinity at 11:15am,


Monday, February 1. Several hundred thousand cases of water have been donated to the city of Flint since the water crisis began several weeks ago. Prior to the rally, nationally syndicated radio host Ricky Smiley is scheduled to broadcast his radio show live from First Trinity MBC, beginning at 6:00 am EST. The rally is open to the public.
